A bunch of people followed me these past few days, welcome and thank you!! I mostly draw Star Trek, (but I do get obsessed with other stuff occasionally). I am working on commissions right now and have a few projects I work on when I can

Very true, Peak had a really specific style that could make any movie appealing! His Excalibur poster is probably one of my favorites ever

Peak had some of the most iconic movie posters ever honestly

Robert McCall was an illustrator for Life Magazine and other publications, but is best known for being NASA’s primary artist for many years. He had a lifelong love of aviation and spaceflight, and the pre-production illustrations he made for Star Trek: The Motion Picture are marvelous.

This evening I have been researching what paints animators used in the 70s, as you do. 🧵

I wanted to identify exactly what colours Filmation would have used in their TAS artwork. Seems like they used Cel-Vinyl, going by the codes used on spec sheets. I found a handy hex value spreadsheet too!

Not many things in Star Trek I would die on any hill for except for Klingons losing 95% of their joint slay when they pick up a laser pew pew weapon to fight instead of a blade

As a known enjoyer of Klingon ground combat consider my interest peaked

I haven’t watched Starfleet Academy yet, but did I spy with my little eye some previews of the Klingon character hunting with a bow and arrow?

He’s in the Broly movie as a kid during the backstory

I haven’t actually watched it (no frieza so… what’s the point) (lol) I don’t know if they are supposed be actually kids or just small? But yeah Z kid Vegeta is so iconic, but I do like the kid Vegeta on Daima as the SSJ3 it’s just such good design
January 29, 2026 at 10:50 PM
Yeah! And the color too, GT SSJ4 is more aggressive looking, black hair and red eyeshadow etc, it's just the way Things Look now, the 90s anime quality of GT just looked nicer for that type of design imo Daima SSJ4 looks too cute if that makes sense
