I simply called it that since the subtitle is "The Adventure of Link". None of the other Zelda games are predominantly side scrollers with a life and exp. system!

I think SFA would count closer to a Zelda game than a "Star Fox" genre'd game from what I've seen of it =)

Due to how close Zelda II was released to Metroid and Castlevania, it'd be hard to say it's a Metroidvania. Why can't 'LinkVenture' be its own sub-genre while referring to Zelda II type games? Please see: The Battle of Olympus (NES).
