I love the idea that an Android with immense strength would in another dimension have biceps bigger than his head. Just for aesthetics.
Salamander 3 steps it up in intensity from the previous game. I found it very fun and difficult on easy 😅. It first came out a few months ago on the Gradius Origins collection. #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

I had a good time playing Salamander 2. Great gameplay and visuals and a fantastic soundtrack. I was able to beat the Japanese easy version with 3 credits via the Gradius Origins collection. #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

This Way Madness Lies is a great game and barely anybody bought it. It should be played by more people. If everybody here on @bsky.app banded together and bought a Steam copy and played it, well, that'd be a miracle and I would be forever grateful.

The Touryst is a mixed bag for me. I loved the art and vibes. I enjoyed the puzzle solving. But I disliked some of the platforming and mini games. #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Ghost of Yōtei explores how one heals from trauma. Whether it is a diet of grilled fish, painting lovely landscapes, playing haunting melodies on the shamisen, or slaughtering your enemies, you play as Atsu as she grieves her family and tries to find peace. #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

I just beat Ys X: Nordics. In this RPG you travel the northern islands with ship combat and you get a magical surfboard to ride along light trails. #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Donkey Kong Bananza. I punched and smashed my way to the hollow Earth's golden core. Collected massive amounts of gold, but to be honest, the real gold was the bananas eaten along the way. I loved it. #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Yakuza Kiwami on switch. If you played it on other systems you won't get anything new here but I enjoyed playing on my switch 2. #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Well, if that's not enough to trigger the Butlerian Jihad then nothing will be.

If you like fighting games and action RPGs, I recommend the world tour mode of Street Fighter 6. You role play as a citizen of Mayor Mike Haggar's Metro City. Capcom should build off the game and make a 3D Final Fight. #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

I found Sam & Max Hit the road to be amusing yet frustrating at times. I had trouble getting Sam to move where I wanted in a few instances. I would recommend it only if you are interested in classic point and click adventure games. #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Fury3 has been a white whale for me ever since getting a Windows 95 PC with a demo of the game as a child. You pilot a ship in 3d fighting air targets and ground targets across 8 planets. Pretty fun. #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster is a great RPG. Gameplay, music, art and story are all fantastic. It's been 18 years since I beat this game on the GBA and I was reminded how wonderful the pacing is. #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Toem is a good photography adventure video game. Some of the requests were simple, some made me look around and have an "ah ha!" moment, which is what you want with a puzzle game. The dramatic use of color reminds me of Akira Kurosawa's High and Low. #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Final Fantasy V Pixel Remaster is a must play RPG. It has incredible music and gorgeous visuals. You can switch between jobs to gain new skills. I've beaten the PlayStation, Game Boy Advance, and now PS5 versions, and I would say they're all worth playing. #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Clockwork Aquario is a 2021 platformer made by Westone. It started as an arcade game in '92. The gameplay is fun and it has great art and music. Enemies can be stunned and thrown. #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is a fantastic action game. Combat is fast and fluid. The writers deftly crafted dramatic and comedic scenarios. If you have beaten a game in this series and ignored the substories, you are doing yourself a disfavor. #justbeatit @polykillpodcast.bsky.social
