Jeff Bezos’s wealth has increased an average of $70 million every day of 2026, meaning that he could have offset The Post’s losses with what he’s made since Monday.

Thank you! Found one not far from our house near San Antonio.
Will be researching Oakmont Industrial Group tomorrow. 🤬

🚨 New: We built a visual tracker of the warehouses ICE is targeting across the US.

Working off an idea from @actualkatherine.bsky.social, we’ve mapped active searches, canceled deals, and linked state property records.

My sign at No Kings said “ICE please show ID number and verbalize last name if asked.”

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. Did not know.
Husband is sort of a martial arts purist and we don’t watch any of the entertainment type stuff. (He sometimes practices at home with old jujitsu and UFC DVDs from the 2000s, not kidding. 🙂)

tomorrow i would really like to challenge a few folks with larger followings than me to adopt a rent and raise it in one day.

my little group chat and my followers have paid like 70 families rents in the past four days. i believe that some of y’all could help us keep one family housed.
today's report:

our "adopt a rent" venmo campaign paid 43 families rents who were at risk of evictions, including several moms of 4+ children

this is the way to get rent paid fast. like. 1000x better than any other way.

No struggling newspaper ever saved itself by becoming a worse and less essential product. But what's happening today at the @washingtonpost.com is not just the latest devastating contraction of the news industry; it's the gutting of an American institution vital for a healthy society

My parents bought a Washington Post subscription for me when I went to college as a Journalism major. My favorite paper on my doorstep every day!
I’m a writer who has no words for how deeply my heart hurts today.

Washington Post is shuttering its book section, part of the ongoing war against literacy & knowledge.

We at Current Affairs want to pick up the slack by expanding book reviews. Writers: pitch us anytime! And if you subscribe/donate we'll use the funding to commission book coverage.

I know a lot of MAGAs in Texas. Many don’t even know who Vance is.
Trump is their cult leader. Vance can’t do that.

I really would love to see a vibrant return of fun and useful home ec classes for all kids
We need a home ec fervor to rival the last 20 years of yelling about STEM. I will happily spend my later years teaching high school kids how to meal plan, budget, prep, and cook if needed to serve my country.
February 5, 2026 at 6:20 AM
Same! I learned basic cooking, budgeting, and sewing in 7th grade home ec. Skills that I’ve used for decades.
Also shoutout to my teacher Mrs. Wellborn for giving us the secret to cooking a perfect omelet all those years ago. 🤗

The animals were imperfect, long-tailed, unfortunate in their heads. Little by little they put themselves together, making themselves a landscape, acquiring spots, grace, flight.

Not just talking heads. A lot of the population
one of my strongest beliefs is that we're in our situation right now bc some of the most prominent talking heads (e.g. joe rogan, andrew schulz) are learning about politics in their 40s and 50s, instead of their teens and early 20s, and we have to go along for the ride as they learn basic things

I grudgingly agree that Derek is correct. It’s difficult for me, as I’ve been a political junkie since I learned to read at age 4.
The Houston newspaper arriving at our house each day was a big deal.
