We'll be closed on Thanksgiving Day. See you on Friday, but especially on Small Business Saturday! If you missed it, we're doing a fundraiser that day for @sophialorange, wrapping presents for donations.

As many of us prepare for a feast this week, we've got some great books to reflect with on the foods we eat, and other things to be grateful for.

Every book is a surprise! We've just wrapped a ton of new Blind Dates with a Book--wrapped up so pretty you could grab a couple for a White Elephant/Yankee Swap & might want to take your own present home! We've also got mystery bundles (which could hold a mug, a puzzle, a book, & other fun items!).

New Book Tuesday has arrived again, with some fun books for everyone. A new Sandra Boynton book will pair well with her other books (come pick up signed copies of her holiday book & album, Cows & Holly, while supplies still last!).

Have just spent the last several hours going through one publisher's catalog looking for new 2026 books to put in our book box for the bookstore.

Pounce, our new foster, is starting to get acclimated to being inside (and he is okay with being touched! not happy, but okay) but he found the ONE piece of furniture in the room that had just barely enough space for him to get under it (which was a huge surprise! mostly it's

Twitter accounts are based in Russia. BlueSky accounts are based in homes with, frankly, too many books, plants, obsolete cables, and pieces of rustic pottery, that could do with a bit of a tidying up, to be honest.

It's not pretty, but we have WORKSPACE now in the back room! Big thanks to friend of the store Rodrigo, who helped us set up our new computers from the grant, and brought this desk up from the basement, left by the previous tenant.

If you're looking for a fun bookish advent calendar--or a romance that you read a chapter a day of in the lead-up to Christmas!--come on by in the next week. We've got PLENTY of the Bibliophile Advent Calendars that were so popular last year!

Our new buddy is going to the vet on Sunday, which means he needs a name! I like to name all my cats (including fosters) the names of cats in books.

We're changing up our subscription boxes in 2026 so that each month will be based on a theme. Right now, some suggestions we have are:

Investigative
Food
Mythology
Dragons
Travel
Cozy British village

I'm not sure any of these are *quite* right and I'd love suggestions!

It's just about time to defy gravity again! A wonderful companion to the movie experience would be to pick up a copy of Simply More by Cynthia Erivo.

We're nearly at the end of our writing group year (1 more week left!), so let's celebrate our two published authors in the group! Authors @blairelynnscott.bsky.social & @artemisprice.bsky.social are hard at work on their next books along with the rest of the group.

Poll time! We haven't done well with selling mugs, so I'd sworn them off. But I CANNOT RESIST this Lowly Worm mug! If I order in 4 of these, will we have 4 people who want to buy it this holiday season?

It's #NewBookTuesday! We've got hockey romance, nonfiction about the only military rescue of Jews during WWII, a reprinted mystery from Mary Higgens Clark, and the paperback of Jennette McCurdy's I'm Glad My Mom Died, which bookseller Sara LOVES.
