A shiny guitar and a muumuu away from a Melvins music video. "Spread Eagle Beagle", perhaps.

Two days of constant, shitty news mixed with hormones landed me a nap dream where I was trying to escape my home before family returned to imprison me, but the neighbor's dog caught me trying to leave and here came a role reversed Weapons-esque scene of running from the now-alerted neighbor.

Nearly my entire feed is about frozen water today.

I finally remembered to take a minute to translate new signage where I live and it turned out to be about developing a plan for your kids if, you know, something happened.

TikTok is now under US ownership and their new ToS reads like a guide to giving fascists everything they need to put you on a list.

They’re collecting information about immigration status, citizenship, sexual orientation, whether you’re trans or non binary and physical or mental disabilities.

Be careful with the new TikTok update. ⚠️

They can now track your sexual orientation, citizenship status, disabilities, etc. just based on the content you post.

I’m unsure if I’ll be sticking around there due to this. 🫡

I was not expecting the holocaust, but it sneaked up on me regardless. Which begs a question: for the billion and a half WW2 movies that never quit, how come we're here right now?

A review of Sentimental Value (2025)
So it's a movie featuring generational trauma, the holocaust, and actors being actors? No wonder it's attracted awards.

New travel fear unlocked. Read the thread.
I just woke up from a nap and somehow while I was asleep, everyone on the bus has figured out we are not going to the right place

Pluto + Venus + Moon in Aquarius approaching exact square to my Venus in 8th, all in my 4th: spending time thinking about the value of buying real, non-particle board furniture during times when the world feels unstable.

Been catching up on Survivor so just two new movies this week. Hoping to knock out some bigger deal, award-winner movies soon.

Today: opening the computer to find out wtf is the weird strained fan noise this time. Verdict: evidently nothing. Because it fucking felt like giving me anxiety. I just replaced this. It wasn't even full of dust.

Also today: local fires PTSD because of the smoky air quality. Related?!

Another memory that has come up a lot in recent years: In elementary school I was assigned to do a paper on the country that starts with V and ends with zuela. I'm finding absolutely none of it useful for these times, but I did learn a lot about rubber trees and chewing gum.

A thread mentioning movie phone lines reminded me that 29 years ago I would come home from school & dial up a # to hear a recording of my daily horoscope. It was a local number so no charge. The lady who did the recordings had a warm, happy voice so it was a treat despite in one ear out the other.

Anti-ICE protesters are having a rolling noise demo and protest in downtown Minneapolis targeting hotels where federal agents are reportedly staying -- starting at the Canopy by Hilton and going to the Renaissance Minneapolis Hotel. Police have just arrived as we are posting this.

Today's brutal neverending headache had the soundtrack of The Neverending Story. According to Fantasia lore, more of us should watch it to keep the dream of hope alive.

Can the news stop being terrible? We're barely 1/4 in.

Ended up uncertain if I'd seen this before because of familiar elements, but that seems unlikely. The whole reason I started keeping track of movies was to avoid situations like these, so I shall continue writing stuff down.
