Hard same.

I was even a Republican with massively shitty opinions. Those never came near Naziismv
I believe in nuance as much as the next guy, but my vote will never go to the candidate with the Nazi tattoo.

Some things are immediately disqualifying.

I don't feel we should have to say that, but here we fucking are.
I'm pretty sure the old lady doesn't have a Nazi tattoo on her chest, so she's got that going for her
It's like the Al Franken thing; if you don't apply your principles to people on your side theb they aren't real principles.

"No Nazis" is one I think we should stand up for
And literally nobody would get it, which is either REALLY cool or kinda silly.

I bet if you ran into Tom Hanks even he wouldn't get it.
That is somehow both something I can't imagine you doing and very much on-brand for you.
I thought Planter was something we could all agree on.
I think that would be even worse. Imagine going on a first date with someone and they already have your name inked on their body.
🎵If you like it, then you shoulda put a ring on it🎵
Quite honestly? I'd consider a vote for Susan fucking Collins over a guy with a Nazi tattoo. The ONLY thing that would give me pause is her keeping her seat helps the current Naziesque GOP, but it would be a legitimately tough choice.
In this case it doesn't.

And if you want a Norse rune for some other reason you should either choose one that doesn't have Nazi associations or make sure you integrate it into larger body art in a way that makes clear that your intention is purely Norse heritage

The latter approach is much harder
Louder for the ones in the back.

Are there people who are genuinely reformed? Yes.

But they have to SHOW it and find ways to atone. They can start by removing the fucking tattoo *before* they're called out on it. That should be an absolute bare minimum
We can fight for progress values without falling into anti-Semitism.

Blaming Israel on the very DAY we're discussing an alleged progressive with a literal fucking Nazi tattoo is a choice, and not a good one.
A few things:

1) The core point - that the liberal party should lean farther left - is a good one

2) "I smell Israel" reeks of anti-semitism. There are tons of influences pushing the party right, mostly money and professional consultants

3) Stop calling it a clown car. Clowns are better than this
Seriously, FUCK these guys.

First, there is no win in abandoning our values.

Second, the energy in the party is behind the left win, not the middle.

Third, I smell Israel.
lol new clown car just rolled up
Maybe, but getting a symbol without knowing what it means is REALLY careless because of this possibility exactly.

Unless you're getting something unique that you made up yourself it's worth looking to not make an inadvertent bad choice.

Not doing so isn't quite disqualifying, but it's not positive
If you find yourself with a Nazi tattoo you're either:

1) Too intellectually incurious and thoughtless to research the symbol you're getting permanently inked onto your body

2) A nazi

No other choices - option 1 gives EXTREME benefit of doubt and is STILL bad.
Let's read the cards

Feeling clear inspiration and creative maturity doesn't mean we can't find ourselves at a crossroad, and even at a loss as to what to do next

The problem is we're over intellectualizing and not feeling. If we're blind anyway we may as well go with our gut

SO now I have to read your new book *and* Joanna Bourne.

RIP free time
Not that I think this is your point, but I find myself FAR more drawn to authors who engage as people than ones who just spam "NEW BOOK OUT - SIGNING TOUR SCHEDULE - READ MY BOOK"

I'm not nearly cynical enough to think this is your reasoning, but this *IS* a promo.
My doctor used to have an annual ritual with me; she'd say "the insurance says I have to have a discussion of your BMI with you. Yours is high, but it doesn't mean anything."

Then she asks if I have a fire-extinguisher and smoke alarm house(good) and a gun (bad).
Like "Biden's Mom has got it goin' on?"
At least the Sora watermark means they aren't pretending that it's real.

That doesn't make it good, but it's less bad than trying to pass AI off as reality
Way to stand up with the people, Governor Pritzker.

I meant this decade

I'm sure there are - I don't know who today's Pete Seeger is
