Just a reminder that Runway AI partnered with Lionsgate to make a whole model to create industry standard video and the entire Lionsgate film library was not enough data to make a functioning model.
Then they try and run the old "oh but it's going to be run on our own data!" play, which isn't a thing. As others have pointed out, there's no way they would have enough data on their own to spin up a GenAI Slop Machine. Anything they use would fundamentally still be based on stolen data.

The Pitt Season 2 is going to single-handedly motivate me week to week to watch an hour of protagonists trying to do their best in impossible circumstances. This is why The Pitt being back is so welcome. I doubt any Hedgeknight has that outlook about other people.

In 2025, I think everything I wrote was bad.
The good news is most of it was for a project where my two co-authors will erase all my badness and turn it into good, actually.
The other good news is I wrote the other stuff for myself so no one has to ever see it.
