DARK FROG HAS ENTERED THE CHAT #PDX

The Portland frogs are multiplying. I’m watching the livestream at katu.com/watch
Three green froggies and a skeleton frog! These are inflatable costumes and some of the frogs have little capes. They’re protesting on the other side of the street from ICE.

I love that blow up animal costumes have become the symbol of anti fascism.

Things are happening at Portland's ICE facility tonight.

It's simple really. The Blue Jays a bad baseball team, who won the division, outclassed and beat a better team that did not perform as well as the clearly inferior team

In other words, it's not about teacher salaries.

Glad this is out there now but I don't know why the ATA didn't make this public when they rejected the last offer.
But I'm not a labour relations lawyer so what do I know.
Does seem like something that the public should know as it provides clarity around the Union's decision to strike.

The Alberta government stopped tracking class sizes, and then the province's population growth really took off. @robsonfletcher.com set out to find out how the numbers of teachers compare to that growth, with the limited info available

Class size/composition is a strike issue.

ANALYSIS | Alberta stopped tracking class sizes. Then it changed its funding formula. Now, it's a teachers' strike issue | CBC News
Get a rough idea of how much Alberta’s teaching staff has grown compared to how much student enrolment has grown since the funding formula for school boards was changed.

The union keeps saying, show us the funding formula and the UCP refuses. The union knows that the additional funding will not address the issue of class sizes.

“It might cause a bit of angst to put some of the stuff out in the public domain but, hey, we do live in a democracy,” said University of Alberta professor Darryl Hunter.

“Student-teacher ratio is a key performance indicator for any system … and people want to know what these numbers are.”

This is why they won't provide the formula showing how the addtional spending will address the concerns.

It's hard to argue against that. He obviously trusts the entire staff enough that he values versatility tomorrow over performance in the moment.

One of the most impressive things for me was they were able to manage it in a way where they weren't caught in a situation that they couldn't use a guy the next game
