Waited to get the court docs before reporting on the high court challenge to the social media ban.

They reveal an injunction will be sought against esafety, the minister and the govt to stop enforcement. And one of the teens is turning 16 before the ban.

To fabricate a report with AI once, Deloitte, may be regarded as a misfortune. To do so twice looks like carelessness. theindependent.ca/news/lji/maj...

That "social media" ban. I wonder how many people will "accidentally" get a notice that they HAVE to verify their age by providing private information & how soon will hackers copy the emails & get ALL our info cause we HAVE to give it or lose all access to our, decades old, social media accounts🤔😒

NEW: I have obtained, under FOI, a secret Department report that initially recommended the Targeted Compliance Framework - aka, the unlawful "mutual obligations" scheme

It reveals that, like Robodebt, they recklessly built this thing to punish "entitled" frauds who never existed

The ideological commitment to punishing welfare recipients is a true sickness

Here, the Department endorses the use of payment suspensions to get victims of domestic violence to disclose their circumstances

There is a word for using punishment to extract information out of people: torture

In any other context, what would we think about some unseen stranger eavesdropping on kids’ conversations to see what they’re talking about?
I missed that Communications Minister Anika Wells said that kids talking on social media about plans to get around the teen ban will be picked up by the platforms as a signal that they are under 16.

Fun* fact: in Australia, over 87% of the people who have data exposed in a data breach do so because it was in the ~3 very large data breaches we have each year. (On average, since 2018)
