There was a great art to the building of drystone field walls, since, without mortar, every stone needed to be held in place by gravity.

Construction styles varied according to locality and stone type, and some walls could be 100s or even 1,000s of years old (but with periodic repairs).

GALWAY TO MAYO RAIL LINK FUNDED

Some good news for Galway's railway. The Minister of State for Transport Seán Canney announced that funding for the reopenning of the Athenry <-> Claremorris railway will be included in the National Development Plan.

Minister Canney noted that planning permission is not required for this project since the line has been preserved for future rail use. Preliminary planning and studies have already begun, indicating a strong likelihood of implementation. Ongoing discussions with the European Investment Bank

Only about 10% of the world's population has ever flown. Yet, the aviation industry is responsible for roughly 2–4% of global CO₂ emissions. Does that seem fair?
