The cruise industry represents the worst of overtourism in smaller port towns — crowds like Times Square in quaint Bar Harbor or Juneau. Good on Yorktown, Va., for fighting back.
In some port towns, it’s residents vs. cruises: ‘We’re going to eradicate them’
From Alaska to Maine to Virginia, residents are using their voices and the law to preserve their communities.

For the last 20+ years I have been on a payment plan with my hospital. I fear having any medical care at this point. I don’t want to add to that debt.
Each year after I hit my massive out-of-pocket insurance maximum, I rush to jam things.
American healthcare is broken.

I had an emergency appendectomy just three weeks ago and almost didn’t go to the ER because it could potentially bankrupt me and that’s the risk many of us weigh when we potentially need emergency care and don’t know how bad the problem is.
