Braves fan! Phantom Regiment Phan!
I can dig Miami beating Ohio State. I certainly don't mind the team that beat A&M going on to the Semifinals.

Really enjoyed the STRANGER THINGS finale. Except for a couple of things that would be spoilers, it was all that I hoped for.

Well, now I feel ashamed. I've only seen four of these, and I went to the movie theater over 200 times this year!! Ugh.
The best of the rest: 25 under-the-radar 2025 movies worth seeking out
You've never heard of "Bang Bang," "Americana" or "Lurker." You should watch them anyway.

Happy STRANGER THINGS Finale Day to those who celebrate! Being in a theater with ~150 other fans tonight should be electric!!

Saving for later. It's almost bedtime.
I'm not usually someone who's like 'look at how awful things are' but this video about how short form video might actually be breaking your brain is so well-done

I've been loving how Howtown has approached these kind of questions— definitely check them out if you haven't before!
Are attention spans really broken?

Tonight's movie is THE PLAGUE, something I've heard isn't a horror movie at all despite the name. Looking forward to it. Pretty short, too, so that works for me!

Pretty much a waste of a workday. IT has been on my computer remotely all day long. Nothing wrong with the laptop itself; just some issues with some software that requires an admin login. smh

Mentioned this several times. I ran into Ezra Miller outside the Austin Convention Center several years ago but didn't realize where I had recognized him until a few blocks later.

I stay at The Westin Downtown Phoenix during Phoenix Fan Fusion where some celebrities stay, so I see several there.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

ATS Model finished 11-5 this last weekend for the NFL, so I dropped to just a nine-game lead. Barring an utter disaster next weekend, I should be winning this contest in my first season!

I see the new Daisy Ridley tonight: WE BURY THE DEAD.

That's it. I got nothing else.
December 29, 2025 at 9:52 PM
This is what I have for tonight's game. Based on my tally, if you had bet based on probability over, the model is 7-8 (6-6 yesterday, 1-2 on Thursday)*. That performance was better than I thought (but not groundbreaking), given that the model seems overly confident on Overs.

Ugh, paywall. If anyone has a gift link...please forward it.
The US wants to bring back domestic chipmaking. But America’s first generation of Silicon Valley factory workers endured unsafe manufacturing conditions and never got answers about kids born with birth defects.

Assuming I go to one movie a night the next three nights, I'll finish with 204 visits to a movie theater this year! Easily a record for me from when I started recording my visits. I did 152 trips last year, so I definitely crushed it this year.
December 29, 2025 at 5:36 PM
Ranking my fave movies of the year based on # of times I saw them in a theater:

1 SINNERS - 7
2 SUPERMAN - 6
3 BALLERINA - 4
4 THUNDERBOLTS - 4
5 THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS - 3
6 KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR - 3

Then 13 movies at two theater visits. Any other list is inferior! 🤣

I saw ANACONDA last night. It was dumb, but I really liked the last 20-30 minutes. Unfortunately have to get through a lot of cringe to get to that point.

Someone behind me must've loved the whole darn thing. They were laughing throughout.

Good job, B&N! A book I bought yesterday at 25% off is available now for 50% off.

I guess there was no way to know that was going to happen. The 25% off was for "everything," while the 50% off applies to "select hardcovers."

Depends on the fries, methinks. Whenever I get the fries at Wingstop, I order a side of cheese sauce. Delicious!

With a few exceptions, I don't feel the same way about other fries.
ketchup isn’t available, what are you putting on your fries?

Sunday must've been "Give Danger Mouse extra food day." I went to Dunkin' Donuts around 3:30 for a donut and a drink. They gave me an extra free donut.

Popeye's sent me an email to use expiring points. Got a 3-piece combo, they added 3 (small) pieces to the order that was free w/ points!

Truly. The thing I don't understand is why the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin ONLY has shows at South Lamar. I already have my ticket, but I'm hoping they'll announce more shows at the other locations tomorrow or Tuesday. That seems like a huge missed opportunity if they don't.
Theaters not screening the #StrangerThings finale on Wednesday and Thursday are leaving serious money on the table.

Sheet like this really pisses me off. I mean, right at 4-point differential!!

In any case, the model is 11-4 with games played through tonight this week. I now have a 10-game lead on the #2 guy.
December 29, 2025 at 4:36 AM
Boo! SINNERS is not on any of the critics lists here.
December 29, 2025 at 12:52 AM
Not sure when it started, but I've been seeing videos/reels where someone syncs Drum Corps shows (mainly Carolina Crown) with roller coaster rides. I'm loving them! How do I link a reel? 😂

Someone dumped a boatload of Python, R, and ML books for both at the Cedar Park Half Price Books. Some are older, but there are some from 2023 that would still be useful. Bunch of Wiley books as well. I might take a couple of those.

Why does Costco only have discounts to Theme Parks in CA (except for the Kennedy Space Center)?

Going to Orlando at the end of January (I had been trying to go annually but missed out this year). I wouldn't mind a discount.

There have to be other hacks, but I never know where to look.

I thought today might be the last "warm" day of the winter (or at least for a long time), but I'm seeing forecasts of temperatures in the 80s on Friday. Yay, us!
