This photowalk was part of the Wild Coast Film Festival was co-sponsored by @prophotosupply.bsky.social and Sony and was amazing.
Seeing something like this was a good reminder that nature finds a way. Even perched on a man-made tower on the dock in Astoria.

I think this fits into the Nature is Metal Category. On our Urban Wildlife walk on Friday we saw this Bald Eagle with its latest meal, a Gull.

@morganheim.bsky.social the leader of our event spotted this right as we were wrapping up the walk - she's amazing btw, and you should go see her work.
Some noise reduction and some zooming, but that's how I use something like this in the wild. _______________________________

I've been putting the new Sony 400-800mm G lens through its paces over the past week and it's so good!
The primary people asking about it are bird photographers, so I thought I'd post a bunch of what I've been testing it out on! Most of these were taken on the A1II.

I’m always happy when I make it to Saturday. Even though my job sometimes means I’m working, it still feels somehow special.

Today is a non-working one though.
I spent a very cold night out on the Oregon Desert last month, and just couldn't go to sleep before making a few images of one of my favorite places with the Milkyway reflecting off ice.

You rock. This is directed at you specifically. You're awesome & don't you dare think otherwise
Still haven't made it out there in snow. Need to change that.

This small part of Painted Hills is my favorite part. It’s gets even better for me when it’s snow covered.

My answer is sometimes. It just really depends on conditions. I use it a lot for wildlife, or for long exposures, but I'm finding that I shoot a lot more handheld than I used to. I'm not sure it's because of the higher ISO and IBIS though. Just because I'm ok with faster shutter speeds.
Love this Anne! I vote for something obscure.

Good morning nature fans!

This is the final week of heron gm's before I move on to another animal for March. What will it be? Eagles? Bears? Dolphins? Whales? Songbirds? Maybe african animals?🪶📷

A cold January morning in Zion National Park. Minhaz and I ventured up the trail that leads to the narrows with all the crazies in waders in low 20°ish temperatures this morning and the light was so direct and beautiful.

It doesn’t look that cold, but it was on another level. #landscapephotography
The whole "Taxation without representation" thing is bound to come up. In this case, it won't be because we don't have representatives , but because the representative arm is powerless.
It's unfortunate because some of the places that benefit most from federal money depend on it largely because of a lack of local revenue.

With the cuts at the federal level and even specifically the IRS, I wonder how long it will take before federal taxes become a fighting issue.
Yup. I've got a film image of this one I haven't scanned yet, but soon.
Seeing the latest Trump antic- trying to shut down the Downtown NYC tolls -supports what I've been predicting since the election.

States will ignore Trump and Musk's nonsense and take over all social services to take care of citizens. Many states are in a better position to do it than others.
This is special. I spent some time in some canyons like this a few weeks ago, but I didn't see anything quite like this. Wow!
Wow Andrew. Seriously beautiful light!
Wow! This is unreal!
