Why did we call the genre emo, when we could have called it "low self-esteem-punk"?

It's 2025. How many more examples do we need to show people that austerity policies are ... bad? And that mutual aid at scale is called taxation? That we pay the government so that they can pool our money and invest in infrastructure?

So there are three options:
1. Humans never invent time travel.
2. The humans who invent/control time travel believe that everything happening right now is a good thing.
3. Humans invent time travel, but the things that they have to fix are waaaaaay worse than what we've seen so far.

Well, since Google has publicly stated it no longer respects copyright, no one should feel ethically bound to respect their copyrights. It's time to ask DeepSeek to reverse engineer some lucrative software.
If there was any doubt about Google's commitment to move fast and break things, its new policy position should put that to rest.
Google agrees with OpenAI that copyright has no place in AI development
Google says regulators are too worried about risk.

IMPORTANT: If you live in the United States or Canada, you’ve probably heard Trump‘s constant claim that the United States is “subsidizing” Canada. It’s wrong of course, but here’s the best explanation I’ve seen about how & why it’s wrong. PLEASE WATCH & SHARE IT A LOT. Kudos to Andrew Chang & CBC.

The BQ is more patriotic than every other party (and far more than the flag waving right-wing parties)? That is so ironic that even irony had to look itself up in the dictionary.
Those who say no - "Should Canada become the 51st State?"

All: 82%

BQ: 96%
NDP: 92%

GPC: 91%

Fifteen post thread, and essential analysis for those following #skpoli
It’s clear as day that the Diefenbaker Irrigation Project is a bad deal for #Saskatchewan taxpayers. Over $2 billion in costs for the WIRP at a total best-case tax return of under $600 million is an egregious loss.

But it’s also a bad deal for #Sask producers.

In news that will astonish one and all, the oil and gas industry has been lying about its methane emissions.
We have always relied on the oil and gas industry to self-report methane emissions. Now we have independent ways to of measuring those emissions and it turns out they were lying about the emissions. By a lot. The blue lines are actual measurements. The pink are industry numbers.
