I write comic books. Hi!
We now know 60% to 70% of MAGA accounts were coming from bot farms outside the U.S.

That means every time you or I argued/engaged with a MAGA account, the odds were worse than a coin flip we were dealing with a bot.

Same goes for our politicians (and President) any time they promoted a MAGA post.

Forget it, Charlie Brown. It's Chinatown.
What do we say to the God of Death, Charlie Brown?
And now, Charlie Brown, I give the watch to you.

"Ladies and gentlemen, you're such a wonderful crowd. We'd like to play a little tune for you. It's one of my personal favorites, and I'd like to dedicate it to a young man who doesn't think he's seen anything good today. Cameron Fry, this one's for you.

Superman Unlimited 7 is a Jon Kent spotlight. He takes up a new role and purpose beyond being Superman. And a classic concept is re-introduced. A great thing about @danslott.bsky.social on this series is the ever increasing supporting cast and world building that we will be getting!

Superman Unlimited #7 is out today.

It stars Jon Kent.

And it features the very first in-comic-book-canon appearance of some classic Superman characters.

Imagine if choosing the wrong shampoo or cheaper shampoo means that you or one of your loved one dies.
Cassidy: "If she goes and gets 2 types of shampoo & one is a dollar cheaper, she'll get the cheaper one & the other lowers their price. Once you give her the power of making the decision, she's gonna shop -- that begins to save her money and squeezes waste out of the healthcare system."

I've seen the clip of what he said to the reporter. Why didn't the other reporters have her back? I know this is an "unprecedented" President, but that shouldn't stop basic standards in how the press should respond or support one another.

If you get a one time check for $2,000 dollars, that doesn't help you if your monthly payments for health insurance suddenly increase over $1,000 dollars a month.

I'm choosing to believe that the accounts not getting this are bots. That's how I'm getting on with my day.

As a freelance writer I have an ACA plan.

It's jumping from $800/mo to $1,000/mo for 2026, which has gotten to the point where I need to see if I can get a better plan through my LLC or else reduce my benefits.

The price increases are largely thanks to GOP attacks on the ACA reducing the pool.
Reminder that, unless a creative freelancer has a spouse with a day job that offers health insurance, they likely have an ACA plan. And with the hits to creative industries the past few years, I'm guessing many qualify for subsidies.

Related reminder that comic creators are freelancers.
The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Knowing what's coming, I've recently restructured my budget so that health insurance will now represent a substantial percentage of my outgoing costs-- in a way it never has in my lifetime.

My heart goes out to those who will have to sacrifice basic necessities to make their personal numbers work.

agreeing to make a terrible deal while your main opponent is quite literally being boo'd on live tv by an entire stadium of people is the kind of political instinct you'd normally only find in a 3 week old dead goldfish

So he wants to give everyone $2,000?

If the Right strips away the ACA, you'll blow through that $2,000 in less than two months paying for your new, ballooning health insurance.

And then the next 10 months and change will keep coming at you long after that $2,000 is gone.

A few WEIRD things about this #DoctorWho comic book special...

1) We named it "Once Upon A Time Lord".

We had NO idea those words would be the very first thing the 14th Doctor would say at the start of the 14th Doctor specials.
ON THIS DAY... 2 years ago, Once Upon a Time Lord, written by Dan Slott, was first released by Titan Comics.

How many people who on SNAP do you think are eligible voters?

How many people who are on SNAP do you think are eligible voters who live in Red States?

Sometimes I think none of you are paying attention.

This photographer isn't getting a Pulitzer.

This photographer is getting rounded up, disappeared, and deported to Guatemala. (And, no, it doesn't matter where they were born or if they're a U.S. citizen. They're clearly "Antifa.")
incredible photo that's definitely worth at least 1,000 words from Andrew Harnik of Getty

Found a 40 year old photo of the High School Senior Year version of me.

Clearly I was going an Alan-Rickman-as-an-evil-mastermind hair & beard combo...

...even though I was a few years away from seeing Die Hard and/or Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

This goes double for anything any milk brained pundits think of last night’s elections. Their takes will be bad! We know they will be! Who cares what they think, they have been loudly and enthusiastically proven wrong in races literally everywhere.
lets shake hands & agree to ignore every single garbage pundit & the terrible pieces they write for clicks. let them fade into obscurity so they're all sitting together at the bottom of a well yelling about the need for centrism so when it echoes back at them they think they still have an audience.

What scares me is that with him every attack winds up being a confession.
Trump on Democrats: "I think they're kamikaze pilots. I just got back from Japan, I talked about the kamikaze pilots. I think these guys are kamikaze. They'll take down the country if they have to."

Lucas Meyer turned in a double page layout today for SUPERMAN UNLIMITED #8 that has one of my favorite sequences in anything I've ever *done* for DC Comics. And it all comes down to execution. Seriously, Lucas can draw *anything*.

There's an obvious scene in SUPERMAN UNLIMITED #8 that I don't think has been shown before in a DC comic.

I live for those moments.

There's a designer, Scott Love, who once said, "Only the most foolish of mice would hide in a cat's ear. But only the wisest of cats would think to look there." 😸

There are enough movies where I feel like you could make it a genre: "You're In a Sci-Fi Future, But It's Really the 80's."

Running Man
Robocop (and its sequels)
Total Recall
They Live
Back to the Future 2

Am I missing any? Would Demolition Man count? Is BTTF 2 cheating?
