White House officials are furious with Bill Pulte, the Federal Housing Finance Agency director, who talked Trump into suggesting a 50-year mortgage plan.

The White House was blindsided by the idea and is now dealing with a furious backlash from conservative allies, business leaders and lawmakers.

There’s still time to call senators. Let me explain. Sorry not sorry about the cat. He’s also really upset about this deal.

Hey @govpritzker.illinois.gov: time to call on Dick Durbin to resign. He’s not representing me (an Illinoisan) or the people of Illinois anymore. We need someone appointed by you in the meantime to fill that seat and represent our interests. I don’t care he’s retiring. He can’t check out now.

New Yorkers need to get out in the streets against Schumer at this point. He doesn’t feel pressure but he should. It should be very uncomfortable for him between now and when he’s primaried - mostly on the hope he gets the hint and resigns.

This is really good to see: Miki Sherrill just put out a statement sharply criticizing the Senate Dems' pending cave in the government shutdown, ripping it as "malpractice" and a betrayal of the people who are "counting on us to fight for them." Sherrill knows what drove her victory. Wake up, Dems.

Chuck has to go. It’s just that simple.

Maybe we should devote some energy to forcing him out of leadership? Maybe organize around that?
Please don’t think this beltway game of having retiring Dem senators vote yes while everyone else votes no is going to shield leadership from the end result. We see what is happening and can’t be fooled by those games.

Next time I’m talking to a young voter and they ask me how they can trust Democrats to fight for them, what the actual fuck am I supposed to say?

Oh they’ll fight for you until Chuck no longer feels like it?

80% of Democratic voters want a new leader in the Senate.

Does that matter at all to Democratic senators?

i think this is key. taking the deal would amount to taking the blame. it would turn a clear political victory into an unambiguous defeat.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?
November 10, 2025 at 12:56 AM
Pritzker gets it.
This is not a deal — it's an empty promise.

Trump and his Republican Congress are making healthcare more expensive for the middle class and ending it for working families.

Time for Democrats to stand tall for affordable healthcare. www.politico.com/news/2025/11...

If I were a New Yorker, I’d be setting up a “Stop Schumer” PAC. He cannot remain in leadership. But as a broke Chicago democrat I’m not sure it’s appropriate.

Unacceptable. There are 189,000 people in my district who will be paying 50–300% more for the same, and in many cases worse, healthcare.

I won’t do that to the people I represent. I’m a NO on this “deal.”

If I were @schumer.senate.gov, I would not agree to help Republicans fund this regime on the "promise" of an ACA vote at a later date. It didn't work the last time when they promised to fund DC. It won't work this time either. The House won't touch it.

Caving on a deal that doesn’t fix health care is, and always has been, a giant betrayal of the American people.

Hold the line. Save health care. I’m a NO on anything that doesn’t extend ACA subsidies.
