Thinking about it, I do feel like the last two weeks show that Sony has learned something from the Jim Ryan years. 3 years ago, State of Play would have been dominated by Horizon: Hunter's Gathering as the 'big' thing. By splitting that off last week, it's positive for everyone IMO.

Galactic Racer was easily one of the highlights of last night's State of Play. As my buddy @tapirfortuna.bsky.social noted, it looks like Star Wars: Motorstorm. Love the aesthetic, camera work, speed and designs. Hope they nail it!

This game is absolutely nuts and amazing. The original was moderately fun but this is genuinely a gigantic leap. There are also some truly jaw dropping moments within including some wildly unexpected NES and SNES games. I am very happy that something like this was made!

Oh yeah - PSA on this one.

DO NOT use quality mode. Trust me. It is a bad quality mode and should not be in the game. Performance mode is what you want.

Working on a video because I really like the game. Definitely an 8/10 or 8.5 in my book.

Finally watched this and it’s fantastic. Alec does a great job as always breaking down a difficult topic and dropping facts. I agree 100%!

I'm gonna give up gaming, man. When I see people raving about stuff like this it feels like I'm out of touch and should just quit. Crafting, multiplayer and survival?!!? I can't think of anything worse.

Man, how the heck did 2K manage to sell their mid-2000s sports games for 20 bucks? NFL 2K5 is still crazy good. I'm genuinely surprised. If they sold that game again today but with better visuals it would be huge.

Randomly sat down and played some Madden 26 and, uh, dang...in my mind we were still at Xbox 360 graphics but this looks positively insane. I suddenly have the urge to play Madden.

I had never played Red Dead Revolver before but, dang, it's actually really cool. Great style, fun gunplay and gorgeous visuals.

Yep, he’s right on. When the console wars were raging it was legitimately stressful to publish anything comparing Xbox and PlayStation. It’s wild how heated that could get.
Try a couple decades of shitty emails ranging from simple insults all the way up to death threats from idiot fanboys who can't handle you giving a game "only" 8/10 and see which one puts more calluses on your soul, dummy. You'd fold in six months or less.

It’s been a rough month and need strategies to recover! Someone smashed my car, family was sick and we missed the holidays, two months of working out hard (3x per week) yielded nothing, disappearing friends, politics, bad weather, headaches, cancelled visit home for April and zero motivation. Tips?

Surprisingly, Motorstorm is fully playable in 21:9 at 2560x1080 on a base spec Mac Mini. Only at 30 fps but hey. It holds its own in RPCS3.

It's kind of wild just how good and consistent Playground Games has been over the years. Love these guys. Horizon 6 looks great, as expected, and Fable looks amazing as well (and I did not like the original games all that much, so that's saying something).

Working on the second part of the Xbox 360 special and having too much fun here with Tiger Woods. My 7ft tall 50 year old golf champion is almost ready.

Didn’t realize that Sonic 3 AIR has an interpolation mode now allowing ultra high frame-rates. Playing S3K in ultrawide at 330 fps is truly wonderful.
January 21, 2026 at 11:15 AM
Man…this game still feels fresh. 5K, ultra wide, 60 fps, HDR injected MotorStorm. Just amazing to play even today. 20 years old now!

What can I say but Fuck Meta. They’re killing so many amazing studios to do what? Focus on making the world an even worse place? Garbage company.
I'm hearing some really disheartening news that Camouflaj, the studio behind Batman: Arkham Shadow, may have been completely laid off, including Ryan Payton and Matt Walker, despite reports saying otherwise.
Heartbreaking news if true. This team poured everything into that game.

Older 3D visuals resulted in such a unique and haunting vibe that isn’t easy to recreate in the modern era. I love it.
