Constantly exhausted, even after producing sub-par work. Hoping the post makes it to someone.

That’s unacceptable. If something happened to her I’d never get to see Parker Posey absolutely demolish playing her.
Lol. I bet the test was hard for him
We actually agree I think. But my words are taken out of context. I’m going ahead and muting this, no hard feelings and I wish we’d had a chance to engage properly. But honestly, I’m seeing your responses to replies and comments I can’t view anymore. So, respectfully, I’m going to tap out.
They blocked me. And maybe you. No idea. But I’d just point out that almost everything you have commented on in this thread was written in response to a different poster.
The reply is to someone else who went and deleted their comments. They said I was using China as a scapegoat to ignore what is happening in the us.
Omg! Me too! Today I have BIG thoughts about gluten sensitivities.
Omg, I aint putting up with shit. China is not a “scapegoat”. Your implication we are less free, more censored, under similar levels of surveillance, are false. Plus you ignore all the lessons we can learn from a clear eyed look at how china got there. Because that process is fucking illustrative.
China denies all sorts if realities that do not align with their political positions. Seriously I am shocked at how little people on here realize the distance is between authoritarianism in China currently, and the US, even at its absolute worst.
Monitor away, jerks. We’ll kick your asses anyhow.
Sure seems like your point is that china isn’t effectively limiting access to info electronically, or at least the US is doing it as much. Which is just false. Sorry about the paywall. Here is an alternative, it’s not the best source. www.privacyaffairs.com/vpn-restrict...
VPN Restrictions in China - Privacy Affairs
This article delves into the reasons behind China's VPN restrictions, their implications for users and the broader context of digital authoritarianism.

Cool. Go ask your wife about it then. Because I suspect she’s a badass who will also tell you you are talking out of your ass.
I disagree. Comparing the current US to China is beyond disingenuous, and it ignores the tools that ARE used here to attempt to shift us towards our unique brand of authoritarianism. Namely, bigotry and fear-mongering.
I’m sorry, you are just wrong. The monitoring of electronic communication in China is extremely tight and difficult to navigate. They literally have a system called the “great firewall” to monitor and block vpn usage. Stop shit posting, dude.
Edited- And if you think that it is this easy for someone in China, you have no idea what you are talking about and have [never] spoken to someone who currently or has recently lived there.
Correct. And also totally scary. But completely different than what China has been doing.
I’m sorry I can’t see that goalpost when it has been moved that far away.
Name ONE example of a US citizen who has had a visa revoked to prevent them from traveling to a conference.
Blocking entry from other countries is entirely different from confiscating your own citizen’s passports to prevent them from being able to go live somewhere else. The current admin is evil and racist. But US citizens still have freedom of movement in and out of the country.
Go for it. The recipient might not put it on their shelf, but theUS gov isn’t going to intercept and confiscate it en route like the Chinese government would if you sent a copy of 1984 or a book from the US about Mao.
Maybe. But at the moment it is still a really false comparison. And if you really think China is less of an authoritarian state than the US, then you don’t know shit about living in China.
Try to mail a book about Mao to a friend in China and see if it gets to them. Also try to leave China to attend a conference in the US. Guess what, visa denied. They won’t let you because of their fear of a brain drain. Things are fucked here right now. But China is super fucked.
For how many miles do they have to maintain a ten-minute mile?
