haha! I was thinking something that prepares you for the “pedal now or die!” stretch as you pass the bottom of Pepys Road…

Pubs must try new ideas to draw in customers.
An A board outside a pub warning people to drive slowly because kittens are playing outside the pub and around it.

From Donald Trump's Roundtable on Antifa just now —
"Antifa has been around in various iterations for almost 100 years in some instances, going back to the Weimar Republic in Germany."

“the British night out” 🤣🤣🥲
darryl1974.bsky.social
This has been up and running since the summer, and now the nights are drawing in, it just looks weird - one person in a shipping container topped by some glowing eyes facing a badly-designed road junction, perhaps with a mate joining them if they’re lucky.

A radio studio with a pair of glowing eyes will open on the Greenwich Peninsula in April after winning approval from the council.

Loose FM will move into a converted shipping container in the Design District, next to North Greenwich station.

Not building the Liz Line towards Ebbsfleet was a stupid, stupid mistake too. And don’t even get me started on the train fare from there to Stratford…

Don’t want to sound like that kind of bore, but travelling to/from Dartford daily is teaching me how uninterested the “build, baby, build” boys are in providing any decent public transport links along the Thames into Kent - despite it all being where you’d build new housing. Madness.

Maybe trying to steal a march on the East Anglia derby starting at noon on ITV1.

I’m not really a fan of Neil Young so I would probably regard his whole album as “something going funny with the hi-fi”…

I’ll pop in with the flags tomorrow 😉

Though having bent an influential ear this evening, I am going to start practising the art of beer scoring…

Old-school micropubs are great, by the way. I was fascinated by them when they started spreading across southeast London - each has a really interesting backstory.

But they’ve inspired a local micropub/craft scene that is so rich and diverse - and I’m amazed SE Ldn Camra won’t recognise it.

Thought about this tonight while popping into two old-school micropubs in Crayford and Barnehurst that have diversified into magnificent little places - keeping the cask ales but doing just a little bit more these days. Just as the Green Goddess does.

Guess who isn’t in Camra’s Good Beer Guide for another year?! Yes, it’s us! Luckily we know we serve good beer and we will continue to do so even if our local branch members don’t seem to recognise that.

Midweek football is the best football (even if it’s goalless at Loftus Road right now)

We'll join the rest of the football community in remembering the life of Billy Vigar who passed away earlier this week.

Ahead of kick-off we'll pause for a period of silence, the thoughts of us all are with Billy's family, friends and all at Chichester City.
