Some people come to social media to have fun and make friends, some want to listen to other perspectives in a respectful manner, others are just on here to fuck around. The beauty of this platform is you can tailor it the way YOU want to, and there's nothing wrong with that.
A lot of the “echo chamber” critique revolves around a romanticized vision of the role of debate, a vision that’s existed for a long time and never really been aligned with reality, I think.
