The public library is an essential component of a 21st-century left political project as an example of both what is already available to us and what can be improved upon in the future. The library is a public good, and it is free as a public service.

I want more people to make the connections.

We may all need a bit of 1971 spirit in the coming days. Nice to know we have form in the “punch your local Nazi” department.
#OtD 31 Jan 1971 anti-fascists attacked the National Socialist Party HQ in Melbourne, Australia. The Nazis, dressed like storm troopers, were told by police to lock themselves inside, but over 500 people forced their way through and wrecked the offices stories.workingclasshistory.com/article/1114...

Any journal that deems itself “respected” needs to reject *any* paper containing “zombie” (ie AI hallucinated) citations.

Alison Luchs, who has worked at the National Gallery of Art for 47 years, agreed to learn Gen Z slang and make videos because she wanted to raise interest in the museum’s art.

She never expected to slay. https://wapo.st/45BXc3S

This will arrive here in Australia shortly, the only difference being that the male will be called Chris and will be voiced by Karl Stefanovic and AI-leen will be voiced by the woman who does the Coles ads.
As an ex e-learning developer, I can confidently say this will be a terrible learning experience. I cannot wait to rip it to shreds.

Here's what the Free AI Training will look like 🧵

BREAKING: Free AI training will be offered to every adult in the UK, with short courses to teach people how to use simple AI tools effectively in the workplace.

The beauty of this is that Guttenfelder is covering these men the way they have always wanted: dripping in tacticool gear, in action, looking down their sites at an enemy which surrounds them. In doing so, he reveals who they are. They imagine themselves heroes; he shows they are villains.
Dave Guttenfelder is an amazing photojournalist who‘s most recently primarily focused on conflict photojournalism in Syria and Ukraine.

Hes recently turned his talents to Minneapolis.

Google AI summary results containing in-line advertisements subtly integrated into the description of whatever unrelated thing that was searched for is a nice touch. Super informative and classy way to inform people about reality.
