Building up some stamina for 2x 5 mile races in November. One is sunset and the other sunrise so not much time to rest. So aiming for 8-9 miles in training over the next few weeks.

This is madness!

THE SEVENFOLD CROWN

Yesterday was mental health awareness day. One thing I’m very aware of these days is my mental health. I’m in a much better place than a year ago but some days are still challenging.

But I’ve got a week off work and taking a bit of time for myself. And then being whisked away for my birthday!

Fun fact and if I’ve done my research properly. This was the first colour drama shown on BBC1 on Saturday 15 November 1969. Not the first colour programme but almost certain it was the first drama series that day

Watching Top of the Pops from 1970 and while in black and white… I can see the chroma dots. This is what being a Doctor Who fan does to you!

It’s so much better than people say it is. Hampered by production issues and actors being mean about the director years later. There’s a nice atmosphere to it. Yeah, I like Terminus!

I was never one of those. Quite glad about that too!

Annoying! I find it so mixed up what gets a strike and what doesn’t. Hopefully not too much of a pain

I have no idea where my graduation photo is. And I’m quite glad

This is getting a tad more violent than I was expecting

The level of detail I have come to expect, respect and enjoy!

Brand new on Dirty Feed: what was special about the Fawlty Towers episode "Basil the Rat"?

Short version: it had two days in the studio, while every other episode only had one.

Long version: www.dirtyfeed.org/2025/10/tc8-...
Fawlty Towers, "Basil the Rat": the Major spots the offending creature in the bar.

Considering that I’m part of the wider railway family, I cannot openly condone such an action.

Privately, I’m with you!

It’s getting bad to worse. It needs to be treated the same as smoking and vaping. Get caught doing it, removed from the train!

It was sort of amusing on the original Earthshock commentary but it’s gotten old by now.

The Beta Cloud is one hand an exceptionally dumb episode of Space 1999. On the other hand it’s dumb fun.

One week until I’m 42. Which I found out this morning was how old Bette Davis was when making All About Eve.

I think we’ve both very well for our age

New series would always start with “who’s gone?” followed by “will they get a mention?”

Just playing with the settings on the new TV light

Three days? Blimey. I’m tired just thinking about that

Post you from a different era

2008 as I was about to move to London. Very much in the closet, not quite knowing where or who I wanted to be.

Strange New Worlds is a good example. 10 episode seasons where they’re all big or quirky and in a long season would have sat alongside some good “story of the week” types.

I seen it said that what we get now is series without filler episodes. But sometimes a good filler episode is a fun, entertaining and relaxing watch! Yeah I miss long seasons

Made it up to series 14 when it was on BritBox. Interesting to how it evolved. I’ve been watching a similar evolution with Byker Grove on the STV Player. Both have a brutality in writing characters out very suddenly!
