Have been a fan of Joel Edgerton since THE SQUARE and ANIMAL KINGDOM, and he's one of those guys who, when you see his name in the credits, you go, Ok well at least *he's* in this. But TRAIN DREAMS felt like he'd switched gears on something. Turns out he had. 📽️

ZODIAC KILLER PROJECT is not just an autopsy of a fail; it's a funny, side eye look at the whole True Crime Industrial Complex and how formulaic it's become. Great doc for those who love incriminating montages. 📽️

'Zodiac Killer Project': When Serial-Killer Docs Go Wrong!
An abandoned movie on hunting the Zodiac Killer turns into a side-eye look at something even more rampant than mass murder: true-crime documentaries.

Was wondering what that faint din I heard in NYC yesterday afternoon was, and it turns out it was my beloved My Bloody Valentine playing in Dublin (anyone who's seen them live will 100% get this joke)

As bleak as this situation is--and hoo boy is it--it's heartening that brilliant people like Alissa are at least thinking about the problem
As basically anyone who’s talked to me since the summer knows, I’ve been working on this for months. Thanks to everyone who shared their insights. (I’ve got a lot more to say in the future, too.)

There will be bass drops.

Oliver Laxe's SIRAT is out in NYC now, coming soon — or at least one prays on bended knees it will! — to a theater near you. One of the few movies that felt like it was already a cult classic as I was watching it. So fucking good. 📽️

Just watched an ad during a 100-second ad break on a streamer — let's call it Paramount + — while watching a movie, that talked about how you shouldn't have to sit through all those ads when you go see movies at a theater so go to this particular chain of theaters. And they say irony is dead.

One of my favorite movies of the year-slash-decade is now in theaters — and this really is a see-it-in-theater-if-you-can experience. You'll be blown away by Joel Edgerton and emotionally bowled over no matter what, though. (Hits Netflix 11/21)

Edgar Wright's THE RUNNING MAN is a faithful adaptation of the novel, and a prime example of why what started as a repository for Bachman-King Overdrive now plays as subversive AF 📽️

There's a 50/50 chance you will love or hate DIE, MY LOVE. What Jennifer Lawrence is doing in the movie, however, is kinda awe-inspiring. This isn't performative punk-AF style bad behavior. This is a 100% free performance.
