Every line is an applause line with this crowd. It's so interesting to see Harrell deal with a friendly audience in a familiar setting (the WAC) without anyone challenging him in any way. Mayor Friendly emerges, a huge contrast from the contempt and rudeness he shows when his opponent is present.

I don't think most attendees are fully aware of the danger. Threats from the government + rising right-wing violence is not reflected in mainstream coverage. One of the many ways the media is failing us right now.

GOP is stoking the stochastic terrorism flames, calling it a hate rally and an act of terrorism. These are messages to their followers to act. I'm frankly terrified that there's going to be a mass attack, or multiple attacks, and am on the fence about attending.

I have to confess I'm really worred about security at the No Kings thing. Despite the many vehicle attacks on demonstrations (including one in Seattle in 2020 that resulted in a death of someone I knew), at the last one SPD did not block intersections. And now it's so much more fraught,
