A wee nugget here regarding Dounreay which may have slipped under the radar: "The full decontamination of the site is expected to take *more than 300 years*"

12 generations. I wonder if they'll have "allowed" us another independence referendum by then.

Caerphilly shows we can beat Reform; but increasingly not with Labour

An array of Green & Gold parties will be responsible for shutting out Reform next election. Plaid, SNP, Green & Lib Dem

Labour can’t beat Reform by deforming into them

Cannot believe how niaeve Starmer's Labour is. Trump is entirely untrustworthy, his word is literally worthless. If he even remembers what he said he'll deny it anyway.

A Black man and a homeless man were found hanging from trees in Mississippi yesterday, for those who haven’t seen yet because it’s barely made it out of local news.

Some Labour guy has had to resign for saying stuff about Diane Abbot who they are always being horrible to anyway. Some Tory guy is being Reform again. Ho hum.

Can we just skip to the final crisis please?

While we should never condone murder, we certainly are not required to celebrate the deceased.

Let’s let this one pass quietly into the night, as he is not worth remembering.

I think a lot of well meaning good government types should be thinking closely about Peter Mandelson, and how dangerous it is for a politician to earn enough to give them a taste for yachts, but not enough to afford a yacht of their own.

A guy in Costa this morning asked for a cappucino with half oat milk and half semi-skim. He said it stops it tasting "too oaty." All I thought was; this kind of thinking lead to the fall of Rome, according to Gibbon anyways. So now I am that meme about men thinking about the Roman Empire too much.

the only reason to encourage the natalists (despite evidence that no policy can bring up the birth rate) is that the policies they *think* can bring up the birth rate are pretty good anyway -- better childcare, longer parental leave etc.

Just... don't tell them it doesn't work!

Ask a racist question, get a racist answer.
Asked by the BBC how he would feel if "your daughter was having to walk past one of these [asylum] hotels every day?" Keir Starmer replies that "I completely get it".

"I understand why people want the hotels closed. I want them closed".

Can't eat flags mate.
NEW: Keir Starmer has said he hangs the English flag in his home and 'always sits front of a Union Jack'

He told the BBC: 'I'm very encouraging of flags. I think they're patriotic and a great symbol of our nation.'

And the response of @teamlabouruk.bsky.social government to Farage’s hateful rhetoric… Labour sympathisers can justify this all they like but it is patently enabling hate speech and demonstrates Starmer et al’s lack of moral courage.

Literally all Farage has to do is hold a press conference to say "by the way I still hate immigrants" and he's guaranteed wall to wall coverage.

I know I sound bitter. That's because I am. Ever tried getting coverage for the climate emergency, for poverty, or for saying immigration's good actually?
