Trump posted a video depicting the first Black president and his wife as apes and his excuse for this is that it's a riff on The Lion King, a movie that does not feature any apes. Somehow this was a one-day story and we've already moved on.

It's not a new observation at this point but that wild Noem/Lewandowski story in WSJ really brings home the extent to which all the Trump 2 cabinet-level goblins see their jobs as flying private, doing short-form video, and screaming at underlings. They all hate each other and none of them can read.

Just as a reminder: she released this ad while Epstein ran his sex trafficking ring in Florida from 2011-2019. Epstein preyed on children on her watch and she did nothing to stop it.

Today, she is continuing to protect rich, powerful pedophiles by redacting them from the Epstein files.

Examples of "the best government that money can buy" are becoming more depressing. Ohio Republican Senator Jon Husted accepted more than $115,000 in campaign contributions from Les Wexner, one of 6 people listed as Epstein's co-conspirators, and then voted against releasing the Epstein files.

Campaign records show Sen. Jon Husted took $116,892 from Les Wexner since 2001, including months before voting to block release of Jeffrey Epstein-related documents.

Regressive Taxation.

Wages taxed at marginal rates of 20% to 45% + National Insurance.

Capital gains taxed at 18% to 32%: dividends taxed at 8.75% to 39.35%; No NIC levied.

Successive govts appease the rich. Difference in rates/NIC fuels tax abuse industry, public purse robbed of billions.
National Insurance is a regressive tax that hits the less well-off hardest
Compared to income tax, national insurance contributions attract little sustained scrutiny even though they provide large amounts to the public purse.

Labour mayor of Greater Manchester joins those criticising Ratcliffe over his comments The GMB union has alos criticised Jim Ratcliffe over his comments about immigration. The union represents workers employed by Ineos, the chemicals company set up and run by Ratcliffe. Andy Prendergast, the GMB’s national secretary, said: Anyone who watches football knows the beautiful game is a shining example multiculturalism; people from across the world playing in harmony. In light of this, Radcliffe’s crass and insensitive comments just underline how out of touch and offensive he truly is. His reign at Man Utd has been marked by mass dismissals of loyal staff and chaos on the pitch. Frankly, his right to comment on UK affairs should have ended the moment he sloped off to Monaco to avoid paying his taxes. These comments go against everything for which Manchester has traditionally stood: a place where people of all races, faiths and none have pulled together over centuries to build our city and our institutions, including Manchester United FC. Calling for curbs on levels of immigration is one thing; portraying those who come here as a hostile invading force is quite another. Continue reading...
