A suitable sign for the onset of winter. A 'pre-Worboys' direction sign at Chilton Moor, Co. Durham, as seen in Jan 1963, a bitter winter, by Ed Fulton on Flickr. Chilly & atmospheric for a child of the '60s! @showmeasign.online @roads.org.uk @sabre-roads.org.uk

A terrific actor: I was so lucky to see him as the first ever Roma in Mamet's 'Glengarry Glen Ross' at the NT as a student, and 💙he was dream-cast by Alan Plater in 'Misterioso'...he really could play very good jazz saxophone, btw #RIPJackShepherd

I've just played #Wings doing the Crossroads Theme and have to say it's one of my favourite and best things #Wings ever did

(My Mum was a Crossroads addict: in her chair, cosy, fag lit: and whenever it ended VERY DRAMATICALLY (rare) they'd substitute the polite usual end-theme for the #Wings versh)

Ye other night I watched a 1979 #TOTP that began with The Jam doing ‘Eton Rifles’ with an unengaged Weller phoning in the miming and near the end schoolkids singing ‘I’m Only A Poor Little Sparrow (It’s A Shame)’. The best act by miles were Darts doing ‘Daddy Cool/The Girl Can’t Help It’ #NowPlaying

An Arctic blast, a day of heavy snow, a long journey to the dentist. The round trip is 150 miles across wild mountainous country but oh! the compensations.

I should not, given the circumstances, be listening to things as sad & beautiful as the 'Live in Dublin' version of Leonard Cohen's 'Alexandra Leaving' sung entirely by Sharon Robinson, whilst drinking wine, but I am youtu.be/hUJxKUS93xY?...
