They want to keep us stupid and silent while privatizing everything currently funded by government, increasing corporate profitability while simultaneously using our tax dollars to give tax breaks to those same corporations and the already wealthy. We, the average American, completely lose out.

Are gasoline prices down under Trump? Earlier in his commends at the White House, President Donald Trump claimed that gasoline prices are down since he took office. BBC Verify recently looked into this claim. They found that the average price for "regular" gas - or petrol - currently $3.16, external, according to data by the American Association (AAA). That's actually slightly up from $3.125, external the day Trump entered office. Trump has also said that gas prices "just hit $1.98 in a lot of states” - a claim he has made several times recently. We cannot find any evidence of these prices. No state has an average gas price lower than $2.67, according to AAA. The BBC has asked the White House for more information about these claims.

I never had to figure out which facility would take my 90yo Mom (see 🧵). She ended up in hospice for a week and died in today’s early morning hours. She is reunited with Dad, who died 4/17/24. She has missed him so very much. I imagine her now, smiling and joking like she used to, happy once more.

#Alzheimer’s is such a horrible disease. My mom is 90 and has been in the hospital since Monday as her assisted living facility can’t take care of her anymore. Since being here, she has gotten more delirious every day. She has no idea where she is or who I am now and she’s scared, which turns into..

As much as I love me a good omelette, I think it’s time to just stop eating eggs for a while. To ease the shortage, the US is looking to use eggs from Brazil, now used only for pet food, or from broiler chickens where eggs aren’t kept cold enough to be safe.

I never unfriend people over politics and then goes on to describe what are political issues (e.g., “do we need a light rail for our city”) and what are not (e.g., “are gay people human beings”). At the bottom it says under Political Issues, “I don’t unfriend people over stuff like this” and at the bottom of the Not Political Issues it says “I unfriend people over stuff like this.”
