The centre doesn’t hold.
Centrists love to lose gracefully.
They call it “governing responsibly.”
They say “we all have to compromise.”
But what they really mean is: we gave up first. 1/

Wow. It’s been fascinating to watch Miley Cyrus come into her own over the years. She’s always followed her own muse — endlessly more creative than her chauvinist, ageist critics ever give her credit for.

Parked Cars has been on repeat lately — for hours at a time. Pure, simple, romantic, harmonic blue-eyed soul joy.
Stephen Bishop has written so many lovely songs, but this may be my favourite (though It Might Be You would also qualify).

So many people tuned in to the premiere of Vince Gilligan’s Pluribus that Apple TV actually crashed last night.
Mine froze near the end, and for a second I thought it was intentional. It fit the moment perfectly.
It’s so damned good. Vince is a genius.

Definitely something I noticed moving to Winnipeg. Cars are prioritized. They come before buses and definitely before pedestrians. Honestly don’t know how anyone crosses a street here without dying.
To far too many drivers in Winnipeg: let buses merge and turn.
We’re out here at bus stops getting soaked while you sit warm and dry in your cars. What’s wrong with this picture?

X-Files. Breaking Bad. Better Call Saul. And now, Pluribus.
Vince Gilligan, you still blow my mind. What a glorious, wild first episode.
Rhea Seehorn is as fabulous as ever. And Jack from The Young and the Restless is there too. Iconic. This is so damn cool!

Jason Stanley isn’t afraid to use the F-word when talking about President Donald Trump.
The author of How Fascism Works and Erasing History: How Fascists Rewrite the Past to Control the Future is clear: He believes the US is currently under an authoritarian regime led by a fascist leader.

I study fascism. I’ve already fled America.
On this week’s “More To The Story,” former Yale philosophy professor Jason Stanley explains his recent move to Canada and calls the Trump administration’s takeover of the US government a “coup.”

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 94th day out of the last 106.
12 days of work in 106 days.
With full pay and benefits.
The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.
It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.

I’ve been rather catty tonight. It’s been fun watching liars and gaslighters bite the dust. Also, the Kings played a great game.
Here’s one of my favourite people in the world right now: Anne-Laure Le Cunff. Her book Tiny Experiments might just change your life.

How does one steal $23K and not get arrested?
At two of those events, the club ran up bills of more than $23,000 over a weekend at a Syracuse hotel – spending big on a three-course plated dinner with filet mignon and open bars – but then didn’t pay, according to records obtained by syracuse.com.
