The trivialising of #ME by NHS and national media is nothing new.
Trivialising turns to ridiculing. HM Government colludes with these sentiments. Postponing action on preventing the harm these attitudes cause (long term disability/death from ME) is not acceptable.

"How do you know?" is going to become an even more important question. Much more.

People who can still answer that question will hopefully be listened to, but it's hard to be confident of this when the apparent mission of the richest people in human history is to destroy trust in knowledge.

Kevin McCloud delivered a lecture for SAVE’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

This struck a chord. 'When we bulldoze buildings we also destroy the collective memory, culture and identity of the communities they belong to.'

It's a reminder that buildings are far more than just materials. ⛪

I've removed the paywall permanently from this piece, which is a chapter from my novel Villager, told entirely in the form of an online village message board. If you like it, you'll probably like the book. If you don't, you won't...

The Village Message Board
Its authenticity was discredited because of his reputation, but also because he was quick with gin at the time and wearing an item of knitwear back to front.

439 years ago, on the 3rd of December 1586, Thomas Harriot introduced potatoes to England after returning from Columbia. The Spanish had previously introduced it the the European mainland. Other accounts suggest others, for example Francis Drake, introduced the potato. #otd #history 🗃️

Yes we are going medieval.

Seems fitting for a medieval guild hall we hear you say...

There’s so much incredible architecture and design in Lincoln Cathedral. This intricately carved doorway, and view down through vaulting and arches, is one of my favourite bits. Not only is the detail stunning, but you are taken from a soaring and open space into a more intimate and enclosed one 😀

Universities are in crisis, and I don’t think it’s helpful to phrase that as “exiting the market”. They’re not mid-range shoe shops, these are educational pillars in society
Chief exec of OfS 'said the OfS believes there are 24 institutions at risk of exiting the market in the next 12 months, seven of which are large providers with more than 3,000 students. There are another 25 or so institutions of various sizes at risk over a two- to three-year period, she added.'
Seven ‘large providers’ at risk of going under in the next year
Skills minister says no higher education institutions are at imminent risk of collapse this year but OfS confirms more than 20 providers are being closely monitored
