The new Gorgeous Blonde track is a tribute to the Sylvia Plath story "Johnny Panic." It harkens back to the band's roots in cinematic-ambient music. No audio effects or trickery; just music! Codes soon! dinodimuro3.bandcamp.com/track/g-mmer...

Most people can't believe how detailed & exacting a job sound editing is. New editors get in trouble because they take shortcuts. You CAN get away with it but eventually you get caught. This is why even bad editors are able to find gigs: there's just not that many people with the patience for it.

Was remembering a photo of my of my First Communion, where I'm holding a shoebox-size present with a big smile. Turns out it was a statue of Mary. "Really?" I'm sure Catholic kids nowadays get real presents and money! In my brain it made sense: "Holy Day, Holy Present." But still disappointing.

People think the ending of Sideways is sad, and it is, but not because Miles had a burger with his prized bottle of wine. Truthfully, a glass of fine wine with a greasy burger is one of the great joys in life. I learned this in a wine tasting class and I've found it to be true!

Happy Bandcamp Friday! Scott Ruhs has kept his singles at the original $1 price and I really appreciate that. Just because Bandcamp raised their suggested base price doesn't mean you have to. Dollar singles means I can support many more people on my fixed income. Consider it!

My Mom used to make fried potatoes 2 or 3 times a week. I only remembered them recently. She added vinegar and salt and they were great! Mine are a little bigger.

I used to joke (and I wasn't joking) that every time I released a new album or track, a major news story suddenly broke that distracted everybody. Now... I mean, is there ANY day where the news is not a complete cluster-F of bad things? I guess any release day will work now!

Trying a new thing. Normally on a track I record tons of overdubs, then edit and mix at the end. But I can't face these monumental tasks any more. Now I'm doing a single overdub, then immediately editing and EQ'ing that overdub before adding the next thing. At the end, it will be done. We'll see!

Just read that Sylvia Plath was thrilled as a young teen to see the rings of Saturn through a telescope. I remember that feeling! To see them with your own eye is startling, like you thought they were just science fiction until that moment!
