I was in the backseat of the car, my two best friend brothers in the front whipping along a gravel road at an alarming speed. The elder drove as the younger blasted master of puppets from the boom box between them. Then without warning the elder brother tore out the tape, throwing it into the road.

My ten year old was downstairs listening to le Tigre and basically I think the kids can raise themselves at this point.

It’s odd: even though “healing people” is the goal toward which most health care professionals are dedicated, “wiping out sick people and their loved ones financially, mentally, and spiritually” is what our health care system is designed to do.

Because I’m late to all pop culture I just learned about Aldous Harding and good gravy she’s amazing. I love “imagining my man” so much I’ve listened to it an embarrassing amount of times this week.

Without getting into too much detail, my 10-year-old goes to a progressive outdoor (outdoor) day school. Last year they had to call off their drag story time because the Proud Boys threatened to show up armed.
So it’s not just the guns, it’s the fascism. I know, I am stating the obvious. Be well.
