hi, cis folks!

if you’re in kansas, please call & tell your state senator & representative that revoking trans people’s documents & setting bounties on trans folks using the bathroom is fucked. tell them to support a veto—yes, even republicans.

contact info: reps.fyi

find talking points in the QP
The Kansas State Legislature just passed SB 244, an extremist bill which cruelly targets trans people and their access to restrooms and accurate identity documents.

Kansans: The time to act is NOW. 🚨

What I wish I could figure out how to say to kids: how you treat others, esp. along lines of difference (and dynamics of historical power), determines whether your world gets bigger or smaller. Your future expands or contracts with these choices, and I want you to want bigger.

This illuminates what little can be illuminated. Meanwhile, I find it "funny" that folks are being told to use a nearby airport. That's like, 4 hours to ABQ, 6.5 hours to PHX, and 9 hours to DFW. And as big as the ELP metro is, our airport is rinky-dink (complimentary). This is very odd.

Excuse me?
The FAA is closing the airspace around El Paso International Airport in Texas for 10 days, grounding all flights to and from the airport, for “special security reasons."

The FAA's notice did not provide additional details.

Fascism cannot produce art that lives because living art relies on unqualified engagement with an other, a challenge to the self. Fascism can only ever conjure an ever more atrociously gilded mirror reflecting back faces that refuse even the realities of time.

“Some say?” Surya Bonaly actually did it, in competition. Twenty-eight years ago. And people *excoriated her* for it!

Sounds like “some” only disagree on whether first glory can be claimed by a black woman.
Ilia Malinin, the U.S. figure skater nicknamed the “Quad God,” became the first person to legally land a backflip on one skate in the Olympics — but he’s not the first to pull it off at the Winter Games.

Hey @beaucoupkevin.com don't buy the Coop one, I just (finally) did.
So. My partner suffered an accident that resulted in very significant injuries. While he is, thank christ, alright in the broadest sense, I am now an amateur RN/dog minder/kid chauffeur, so! I've restocked some prints to help keep us in pizza and pain meds.

If you are too young to remember Surya, she was a fucking ICON. The only person in history to do a BACKFLIP with a SPLIT ON THE AIR, which she’d land ON ONE FOOT

Of course she wasn’t properly appreciated in her time because racism.
