I donated some copies of Let This Radicalize You for distribution at an ICE watch training for folks who want to join school patrols in a nearby neighborhood. Not everyone got a copy, because 120 people showed up for that training tonight. I am endlessly proud of Chicago.

Also, regarding other forms of cancellation, I’ve definitely felt that I’ve been the one to cancel or self isolate myself from former friends and even coworkers. In some cases it was a choice on my end, but I’ve also experienced this in reverse where I was very obviously being pushed out.

In spite of sucking it up at events, I’ve been known to block family members on social media and have even blocked their phone numbers. Notably, my incredibly racist uncle has been blocked on Facebook for years, but I still speak to him cordially in person.

I so often see leftists saying to just cut off rightwing family especially, which is difficult when you’re not in control of the guest list at social events that you’re expected to be at. And unless you want to be fully ostracized, you often have to suck if up and attend the events.
