For the past week, my wife & I have been processing our daughter's anorexia nervosa diagnosis. The path to this point has been brutal. Everything we thought we knew about this disease (we're both health professionals) has been rendered invalid - probably a good thing - but no less devastating.

I have failed many times in my life. Some failures have been worse than others. For the longest time, I wasn't able to see these failures. I looked for excuses - for someone else to blame.
