I stitched this old tweet by @ladyofsardines.bsky.social and remind myself of its truth literally every day.
Photograph of an embroidery hoop. A tangle of multi colored threads dangles from the bottom of the hoop, and stitched in grey thread is the following quote by Ursula Wolfe-Rocca: "It can be overwhelming to witness/experience/take in all the injustices of the moment. The good news is that they're all connected, so if your little corner or work involves pulling at one of the threads, you're helping to unravel the whole damn cloth."

Loody is doing great, she ventures outside a lot more now but mostly loves snuggling up near the skylight. Even in a camper van, they’ve each marked out their territories and are staking their claim on cosy spots now the weather’s cooling 🍂

#Caturday #WinterIsComing
A grey and white cat sits on a folded woolen blanket in a nooky spot of the overhead storage above the cab of a van. The skylight above/behind her shows a blue sky with faint white clouds. Colorful paper chains hang in half loops below her on the plastic face of the bulkhead (I don’t know the exact vocabulary for these parts of the van eek!) A tuxedo cat with a dashing white mustache looks out from a large tweedy grey dog bed on top of a couch in a camper van. Behind him, a large raindrop-dappled window looks out onto a sloping hill and grey sky.

“Whilst the devastating effects of climate change makes it imperative that something is done… many of the communities being asked to make concessions in order for nation states to meet their climate commitments are often those who have been marginalized for decades.”

Governments cooperating with Enlight are in violation of international law. Renewables aren’t an obvious boycott focus, but these countries need to withdraw their collaboration with Israeli companies that are helping expand illegal settlements and are providing renewable energy to the IOF.

Experienced this sonic installation at Munch today. Absolutely sickening. Renewable energy is the future - but in Israel’s hands it’s being weaponized as a tool for occupation, land theft and military violence.

For ARTnews, I visited the Munch Museum in Oslo for "Zifzafa," Lawrence Abu Hamdan's powerful new exhibition on the devastating sonic impact that Israel's wind turbines will have on the local Jawlani people in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.

Oslo mood (Grünerløkka neighbourhood) 🥳
Large mural on the side of a building in the Grünerløkka neighborhood of Oslo. Against an orange background, a large scale painting of a young girl blowing a horn instrument. Her head is raised and the instrument points upwards at the blue sky in the background

Naoise's brother is asking Irish people to please contact the government #Speirgorm
My sister @NaoiseDolan, alongside other members of the Thousand Madleens flotilla, has been abducted by Israeli forces while on a humanitarian mission to break the illegal siege and deliver aid to Gaza.
Please join me in urging the Irish government to demand their safe return.

Scientists recently found two evolutionarily distinct mushrooms converged to produce the same psychedelic molecule—psilocybin.

The “surprising” results underscore the significance of the hallucinogen but leave questions about its ultimate purpose.

In mind-bending twist, ‘magic’ mushrooms evolved twice independently
Study identifies entirely new suite of enzymes that can make psilocybin

Been carrying this postcard around with me for years now (I have zero chill lol).

From a line in ‘Bottom’s Poetics’, a poem by Luke Brekke:

“You should read while you can /
by whatever light, because it’s dark / and set to get darker.”
A postcard propped up against books on a shelf. On a creamy white background in all-caps black text: YOU SHOULD READ WHILE YOU CAN

(My cat's meowing brings my awareness back into my room and I realize I'm mostly/actually talking to myself here. But I think that's okay. So much is being ceded and eroded, gradually and incrementally; I think it's okay to publicly remind yourself what you do and don't stand for.)
deborahrosereeves.bsky.social
Seriously. Too many people are talking out of both sides of their mouth right now, trying to preserve their self-image while they strategize with other people's lives, and it's not only dishonest, it's dangerous and it's wrong and we can't succumb to this increasingly prevalent/pervasive "logic"
