The obvious conclusion here isn’t that AI is effective for executive level work. It’s that “executive” is a fake job that can be replaced wholesale by a chatbot without losing anything of value because executives just steal labor value from their employees, not generate it
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.
I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?

Online fighting game balance discussion is closer to power scaling agenda posting than a genuine design discussion
One of the producers on Guilty Gear Strive said it was basically impossible to source player feedback on balance changes online because nobody had original opinions and would just parrot what the most popular content creators said and so they had to rely on data and I think about that every day.

I love how a conversation that began with random bits evolved into a full dissection of the ways in which people force themselves to play miserable societal "games" and stress themselves and others with needless and hateful competition
I am a serial self-doubter but I had this incredible conversation with @sandroad.moe on the 5 hour ride home from pax that basically recreated the points in my video essays from first principles which convinced me I’m not crazy 😭
