PHON-ey in the #Senate seem to be trying to put forward a plebiscite on immigration, so the burqa stunt seems to be a purposeful stunt. The bill has no chance of getting up. Once again they are probably just pitching to Barnaby. David Shoebridge is ridiculing it right ATM. #Auspol

Not sure why more people aren't calling this speech out. It seemed as egregious as the burqa stunt itself. Wish I could find a clip of it online but haven't so far. #Auspol
Wow, this is getting heated. Bridget McKenzie is throwing fuel on the racism fire. And Canavan is close to getting booted.

Maybe Barnaby is smarter than we think and foresees the splintering of the Coalition? In that environment, PHON could well be on a par with whatever minor parties form out of the Lib/Nat ashes. Even so, it makes little difference. the RWNJs will remain on the #Auspol cringe fringe.

Last night @davidpocock.bsky.social and I read onto the Hansard an interview by the President of Nauru that the Albanese Government has been desperately trying to keep secret.

It shows Nauru plans to send refugees to places they fled. No wonder the secrecy.

Just a friendly reminder that Channel 7's Sunrise helped resurrect Pauline Hanson's career. In 2016, Hanson was paid to appear on Sunrise at least 16 times. She then successfully re-entered politics in the federal election that year, resurrecting the One Nation party. Thanks Kochie and Sam!

I think if they have more local Independents running you'll see a steep rise in the grey square. Hold another poll closer to the election and it will be even more encouraging. And maybe the blue square will disappear entirely. #Auspol
