The Vic Govt has conceded that parts of Vic donation restrictions are unconstitutional because they give major parties an unfair advantage.

But what are the implications, for Victoria and elsewhere in Aus?

I explain on @thepointau.bsky.social live blog.

Wow. #LNP debate in the #Senate is usually just an undisciplined spewing of neoliberal propaganda but now its really just spoiled brats complaining that they didn't get their billionaire bosses' way in the environmental bill. Wa wa waaah. It's both comical and nauseating at the same time. #Auspol

While we wait for a Liberal (any Liberal!) to show some spine on net zero, Tim Wilson is peddling disinformation about crossbenchers’ voting habits.

Wilson needs to look to his own affairs and stop making up rubbish about others.

Just to cut through the backslapping: the very small emissions reduction (2%) is nowhere near enough even for our own local targets. These are also the easiest cuts (ie from local pwr generation bc we are buying solar panels) and are only in one sector.
Exported emissions are 4x bigger and growing.

BREAKING: Pauline Hanson is in hot water after it’s revealed she charged taxpayers thousands$ for flights, priv cars & hotels to attend her private court matter where it was found she Racially discriminated Mehreen Faruqi.
She classifies it as work.
Should pay it back & Resign.

Pauline Hanson has lashed out against people “offended” by her Racism saying she’s “sick & tired” of them
“That’s your problem, being offended!”
“My opinion, doesn’t that matter anymore?”🙄
Actually, no, but do ask this of the judge handling your Racism Appeal. #SkyAfterDark

Of course not. They couldn't afford to have a Senator David on the panel. Too many holes for light to shine through. Personally I'd prefer a Pocock bomb thrown in there. Then perhaps a Shoebridge to clear out the debris. #Auspol

PHON-ey in the #Senate seem to be trying to put forward a plebiscite on immigration, so the burqa stunt seems to be a purposeful stunt. The bill has no chance of getting up. Once again they are probably just pitching to Barnaby. David Shoebridge is ridiculing it right ATM. #Auspol

Not sure why more people aren't calling this speech out. It seemed as egregious as the burqa stunt itself. Wish I could find a clip of it online but haven't so far. #Auspol
