Apropos of nothing, if anyone is interested in watching classic Lithuanian films you just can't find online, the Lithuanian Film Centre will literally just give them to you if you email them, apparently within 15 minutes from your enquiry. Many are subtitled.

Interesting to see Latgalian added to Google Translate. Wondering how it would cope with the northern forms - this is from a Catholic church in Viļaka in remote N Latgale.

Water is "ūdens" in Latvian, "iudiņs" in "standard" Latgalian (quotes used advisedly), here "yudeņs"

The Haspoth #castle in what was then Courland served the #knights of the Livonian Teutonic Knights as a supply and overnight stop on their way from Livonia to their regions to the west. Today, there is little evidence of this in the #Latvian town of #Aizpute.
