For all we know Bane would be playing well & we’d be above .500 w/ him but I will say if he was sucking & we were sucking this would all be so much more painful.

Most exciting parts of this season so far are Coward and potential of this year’s lottery. Both thanks in large part to the Bane trade.

One thing I’ll be wondering about and monitoring as we progress- is this the Ja you get when he is playing every game & gutting through minor stuff? Are your choices occasionally brilliant Morant who misses 25 games spread across the season or diminished Ja who plays every game physically possible.

SGA draining step back threes as Ja bricks one is painfully symbolic.

Santi with a takes an audacious pass attempter to know one catch and finish there

Santi has three or four of these let your guy get the step and then jump timing blocks this season.

Went on a frivolous nostalgia trip, saw a cool dog, landed as the Grizzlies were solving all their problems.

Catching up on bits and pieces of the week- is it fair to say that Iisalo didn’t implement the quick sub, low minute philosophies as aggressively to end last season out of a lack of time and bodies and Ja liked the rest of his strategies without knowing what was to come?

Leading us to… here.

Not saying that it’s right, absolves anyone of anything, or is the most important thing but I think it is underrated the degree to which Morant/Pippen/Jerome as a trio was central to Iisalo’s entire plan.

A lot of my travels include conversations about being from Memphis and being a fan of the Memphis Grizzlies.

I have not advertised these truths on this particular trip lol

Can’t be bothered by the Memphis Grizzlies while in Italy, FL.

I see people remain completely unaware of the purpose and role of non-team media.

I didn’t catch the Grizz game but I can tell you that the Suns are up 18 at half on the undefeated Spurs and Wemby has two points. So basketball is just great.

Came all the way to Florida just to see the:

Two major voices were brought in last yr.

One brought an innovative offensive structure that was successful for the Griz & now a version of it is working in MIA.

Other brought a radical approach to mins & subs. It’s been a constant source of frustration & occasionally losses.

Which did they keep?

Toronto man in coma since the offseason is awake and excited to go see a Grizzlies team built on dynamic play from ball handling guards led by Ja Morant, Scotty Pippen Jr, and Ty Jerome!

Aaaaand from there we have a range of he apologizes publicly to his teammates and we move forward all the way to never plays another game for the Grizz.
November 1, 2025 at 8:02 PM
Not to pile on but it speaks even worse of Ja that he fawned over TI during the change and preseason. Talked about how their minds work together and how they read the game the same way.

So…

This is far from the main thing at the moment but if some of the displeasure is from the low minutes and quick sub patterns, as suggested by Damichael Cole, I think it’s another example of why the extreme version of this style will not work in the NBA.
November 1, 2025 at 6:13 PM
I hate to disagree with the man himself but personally I find an unhappy Ja to be a scary Ja.
November 1, 2025 at 4:30 PM
Set aside, for a moment, the lack of leadership in the pouting and calling out coaches publicly after the game. The leader and face of the franchise tanked a game for a squad in desperate need of wins. Nasty work.
