Nov 27, 1868: Lt Colonel Custer leads 800 soldiers to attack a peaceful Cheyenne camp at Washita River. They massacred men, women, children, and horses, taking hostages for human shields.

Realizing he was surrounded by other camps, Custer withdrew quickly, without checking if his officers survived.

Whether this was random street crime or targeted political violence, I think it was bad for the president to unnecessarily put the National Guard in harm’s way like this. They simply don’t need to be there.

Nov 26, 1986: Ronald Raegan announces the Tower Commission members, for investigating the role of the Executive branch in illegally supplying weapons to Iran via Nicaragua and Israel.

The Commission would last 3 months, and find Raegan and various Admin members to blame.

Only 1 served jail time.

ICE just happens to arrest the ex-fiancée of Karoline "No Comment" Leavitt's older brother, leaving him sole custody of their 11-year old child.

Michael Leavitt & Bruna Ferreira canceled their engagement shortly after he won a $1 million lottery... 11 years ago.

Y'all. That's some fucked up shit.

Nov 24, 1915: Albert Einstein presented his equations on general relativity to the Prussian Academy of Sciences, becoming one of the founding fathers of modern science.

He would emigrate to the US in 1933 to escape Nazis, becoming a citizen in 1938.

Is ICE disappearing today's Einstein from us?

Trump threatening decorated military veterans with death or jail for telling soldiers not to follow illegal orders is exactly like every B-movie corrupt mayor who threatens the retired sheriff for reminding cops to uphold the law.

Spoiler: the mayor is a failed, corrupt, & despised POS in the end.
Aa handful of complicit sycophants does not count as "many great legal scholars." Also, they urged people to disobey illegal orders, which is part of their training and required by law.

This is the type of Democrat that America needs to hear from right now.

This is what journalists should be saying.

This is what Republicans should be saying.

Trump is not America.

This is what being a patriotic American is supposed to sound like.

Nov 24, 1989: The Czech Velvet Revolution culminates in the entire Communist Party leadership resigning from office, following a week of mass protests within the capital.

What started out as students wanting a voice & future turned into all citizens demanding their freedom.

Hey America: hint hint.

Someone tells you as a writer not to talk about your work? You're doing exactly as past famous writers have.

We know "classic greats" like Shakespeare, Mary Shelley, & Hemingway because they actively promoted their work, whether through supporters, self-publishing, or advertising.

You can too.
If you're an author being published by small and tiny presses, please shamelessly promote your work, however much your temperament might militate against it. I've seen many wonderful authors at this level so quickly forgotten when they die, you deserve all the readers you can get while you're alive.

Nov 23, 1991: Freddy Mercury, lead singer for Queen, publicly states he is HIV-positive, a decade after the disease was first recognized in the US. A decade of stigmatization from political, medical, & religious leaders while helplessly watching his loved ones pass away.

He died the following day.

Social Security is not dying. It is being starved. We need it, the rich do not. The cap that shields the wealthy from paying more is a wall made up of greed. Lift it & the system is reborn. Voters keep choosing those who serve the wealthy, then wonder why the table is empty. #ProtectSocialSecurity

"The danger which troubled my husband was that war might be started not so much by the big men as by the little ones. While big men know the need for self-control and restraint, little men are sometimes moved more by fear and pride."

Upon the death of JFK, MLK turned to his wife and said, "This is what is going to happen to me also. I keep telling you, this is a sick society."

Even still, he pushed on, hoping to help create freedom and compassion that he knew he may never live to see.

This is the hope Trump wishes to destroy.

An excerpt from Lyndon B Johnson's speech to a joint Congress, upon becoming President after the assassination of John F Kennedy.

It reads as almost the exact opposite of the Trump Admin's policies, which is why it's so important to push back against them.

Extremely dangerous talk by Trump, on Brian Kilmeade's podcast, where he opens the door even wider for his most committed supporters to kill political opponents.

This is exactly how narcissists are sane-washed.

"I said they used to kill them." (he'll pardon)
