10 years ago, I wrote an extensive piece on André the Giant for CBS Sports. My goal was to show the human side of André's life.

I did a ton of research. I tracked down sources who weren't very accessible back then. I remain very proud of this one. 🤼

Being Andre the Giant
Andre the Giant spent his life balancing the wrestling spotlight with his desire for a normal existence

The Toast of the Coast. The Human Orchid. The one and only Gorgeous George Wagner.

This is believed to be a fan-shot photo from one of George’s non-TV bouts. Using visual clues and a bit of research, I’ve identified the date, location & opponent.

Details coming soon! #wrestling #wrestlesky 🤼
I watched the WWE Vault's video on "tag teams you forgot about" It includes a match I saw in person that I don't think I've seen since: Terry Funk & Bradshaw vs. Too Much. www.youtube.com/watch?v=81F2...

That's the back of my head in Row 2. And my photo of The Funker from that night.
Trying my hand at YouTube. Check it out, if you’re inclined. 🤼

Some vintage Shannon Rose. I knew of that show, but I don't think I've ever seen it. Nice!

Today's episode is the 1983.04.30 (give or take a few weeks, sometimes I just pick a number and keep moving) episode of Capitol Sports Super Estrellas from Puerto Rico. Listen to this interview to see how much Terry Gibbs influenced Buddy Landell & see how good Rickin Sanchez was
Excellent! My old hometown. I went on the same day as the annual hot air balloon rally. You can faintly see the balloons flying behind the outfield.
That is awesome. By the way, not sure if it’s on your itinerary, but I took in a Binghamton Rumble Ponies game about a month ago. Not far from ‘Cuse.
Brother, out of all the folks I follow on this app, you’re one who genuinely seems to be living his best life. Love to see it! Enjoy the game.
Agreed. If people didn’t feel like they had to continuously post & respond in the most bait-heavy way possible, in order to stay “seen,” I wonder how much of social media clutter would just vanish.

My kingdom for an app that boosts accounts that show restraint & post in moderation.
Professional hockey fighting is apparently a thing now.
Watching this Orlando vs Toluca Leagues Cup match.

A childhood spent watching Tito Santana matches on WWF TV makes me think twice about the spelling of Toluca to this day.

My assumption was that they only bothered to ask the person on the phone to spell out the really difficult names, and for the rest, they just guessed wrong. But 🤷‍♂️
What I find amusing is when they butcher all of the easy names, but give them Zbyszko or Abudadein? Nailed it!
One of my hobbies is chuckling at any typos on old wrestling bills.

Found an ad for the regional shows the Montreal promotion produced, Main event is one of the best angle that came from the period. Performer labelled Samoo is obviously The Great Samu poorly spelled.

It’s true WWE charged around $50 each for PPV/PLE decades ago.

It’s also true that a majority of fans only shelled out for a few shows per year back then (or just Mania). Tickets were still reasonably priced in those days, too.

It’ll be interesting to see how the 2026 fan responds.

Visiting Binghamton from South Florida; decided to check out the Spiedie Fest & Balloon Rally for old time’s sake.

Stumbled into an XciteWrestling show.

Rather than keep losing my mind arguing with people about Hogan's legacy, I wrote a catch all column. My second in two days. Here ya go. Leave me alone. It's free, as it usually is. www.patreon.com/posts/134993...

This has become a running joke with me and my sons (we attend conventions a lot). Mick Foley appears at almost every notable convention, without fail.

To be honest, he's perfect for it. Genuinely friendly and seems to enjoy the fan interactions more than most do.
I’ll simply say that I’m sad for his family & his loved ones that are grieving, & sad for fans who have lost a little bit of that childhood joy to the sands of time today.

Hulk Hogan has died, per TMZ.

This feels... complicated. And sad, for a lot of reasons. Almost more so if you didn't care for the guy, because of how things turned out.

Condolences to his family and loved ones.

RIP to Ozzy Osbourne, an absolute legend.

Listen, we all have certain things we’re unapologetically geeky about.

The speed with which I’d sign up for a photo op with Balki & Cousin Larry… would be very fast. (For me.)
Just saw the Dustin Rhodes win. Wow. What a great moment.

Wrestlers hanging around for decades isn’t particularly rare, but still being this good 37 years deep is incredible.
