Pretty sure bsky image compression will absolutely cook this, but I got really into plant phylogeny for the past few years and made a phylogenetic tree with basically every commonly known seed plant on it. Will be breaking it up into legible chunks in the replies if you would like to check it out

Watching Eric Berger (historically a Musk fanboy) struggle with the revelation that Musk is a fake engineer conman white supremacist never loses its entertainment value
Why would Elon Musk pivot from Mars to the Moon all of a sudden?
SpaceX has already shifted focus to building a self-growing city on the Moon."

If a deeply unpopular woman with uninspiring policies managed to win the popular vote less than a decade ago, I don't see why we should be all defeatist about someone with much higher favorability, more charisma, and a much more sellable political vision

Highlighting the speaker who stood in front of the Surprise mayor and told him to consider what the Mayor of Ohrdruf must’ve thought before he died by suicide: “He might have thought ‘how is this my fault I had no jurisdiction over this’ maybe he said ‘this site was not subject to local zoning.’”

Hydrogen is a nightmare material to handle and store. Leaks super easy, damages a lot of materials, is extremely flammable, has super low density, and has to be stored at either high pressure or near absolute zero. Plus generating it is super inefficient. Almost any other alternative is preferable.

Something missing from this headline is that the police chief appears to be a personal friend of the victim's husband and seemingly was able to easily intervene with just some phone calls. So if anything, this is just a reminder that the cops do have some power to help us, they just don't want to

Absolutely incredible sequence from CNN.

I would assert that socialists generally have a good understanding of liberalism, while liberals generally have a poor understanding of socialism, and you can tell that this is the case because it's never the socialists claiming that we agree 95% of the time
It also reduces it to just different policy positions etc but the reality is if you are a scientific socialist, a materialist and you are talking to an ideological liberal you are generally talking to an idealist. There are fundamental incompatibilities at the foundational + epistemological level
A thing that’s occurred to me over the years is that liberals saying “we agree on 95% of stuff” really downplays the importance of what’s disagreed on. A chud probably agrees with me on like 30% of stuff, like groceries should be cheap or we should get to die on a mattress, and so on

practically anyone on here who cares enough to be part of this convo and lives in a swing state did do that; our warnings that she would lose if she didn't stop supporting genocide and border fascism proved both practically and morally correct though

Gotcha—let’s dig into that step by step.

1. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵, because I turned you into an amorphous lump of flesh. You’re not just immobile—you’re immortal, and you feel only anguish.

2. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺. That makes total sense—it’s a natural human impulse, and you’ve been through a lot.

i’m a little confused about how “abolish ICE” requires too much explaining to be good politics, but a set of opaque incremental reforms does not.
