I’ve been many people, done many things. Besides my 30+ yr marriage to Carlton, most proud to have volunteered with the #OneInTeen #LGBTQ youth group in Nashville for 20 yrs. Was also part of #GeeksResist #DemCast prior to being banned from Musk’s Twitter.

A Warning!

Donald Trump began second term—indeed, since his loss in 2020—has shown his willingness to subvert the rules of free & fair elections. He’s used his power to intimidate potential opponents, Democratic donors, and even voters who might oppose him.

Senate Dems, do not cave. Ensuring healthcare premiums don’t surge is an 80-20 issue. They want to gut the ACA because their disdain for Obama far outweighs their concern for anyone’s health.

The hypocrisy of evangelical churches have been on display for years, but the latest lack of response to this food crisis is staggering.

Jesus wept.
Are all the Evangelical Mega Churches operating Food Banks and food distribution? Are they delivering food boxes to frail elderly or Veterans or anyone in need? Didn’t think so

So much for Americans pursuing graduate studies now.

“Operation torpedo PhDs — Make America Stupid Again” on full throttle now under Trump’s tyrannical regime and his attack on higher education.

Imagine Senate Republicans sitting around a table discussing strategy for ending the shutdown and they hit on this great idea to withhold money that's used to feed 42 million of their constituents and then say "see, it's the Democrats!"

fucking brilliant

People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people. (Movie quote)

Public servants should live among the people they serve. How does a republic thrive when those in power are shielded from the consequences of their decisions!!
“More and more cabinet members — Rubio, Miller, Noem — live on military bases now, & it's another parallel to Iraq, where the administration lived in the Green Zone. There’s something deeply unhealthy about a society where leaders are literally shut off from the communities that they govern.”
Don Moynihan on "Purge, Merge, and Surge"
"Instead of surging in Iraq, it’s happening here in American cities."

Here in Tennessee, Republicans specialize in so-called tele-town-halls: Phone calls in which calls in are screened and read by staff.

There's literally no way to reach or talk to an "elected" "representative." (If you call the office you get an intern; if you write you get form letters in return.)
Many in Trump’s administration now live on military bases, to shield themselves from the majority of Americans they are screwing over in favor of the oligarchs.

Many Republicans won’t do town halls.

They avoid the citizenry because they’ve stopped serving them.

We deserve much better.

The greedy billionaires and corporations of America just want to take all the money and away from the middle and lower classes. All the while we pay more taxes than them. We need to fight back and purchase items from local shops. Stop lining the pockets of billionaires with your money.

Trump's failure as a President shows in the job market...

Trump's job growth numbers keep declining in 2025...

Compared to Joe Biden's job growth numbers in 2022 to 2024...

That's why votes this week overwhelmingly rejected Trump's failed economic policies...

Officials announced that the dining hall on Fort Leavenworth is closed [by the TRUMP Administration] because of the government shutdown ... and the GOP lack of concern about the impact of their policy and their INACTION.

The Courage of Empathy

When times are rough
there's a temptation
to withdraw
to defend
to hoard
in the face of hard
need and uncertainty.

Choosing instead
outstretched hands
in kindness
in generosity
in compassion
to offer empathy
is act of courage.

Now is a great time to acknowledge that people in different parts of the country are going to want to elect different kinds of candidates. Some want moderates, some want farther left. But of course, most lose the nuance of that immediately.

Democrats need to hold firm and defend the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). That is the lesson from yesterday's voting!

Trump and the GOP don't care what happens to you or your family. Working Americans need Democrats to our ability to afford HEALTHCARE.
Trump's America is intended only for the wealthy. The GOP doesn't care what happens to you or your family ... and certainly don't give a sh*t about your low-income neighbors.

A road map is needed to move this country.

"The principal goal of a social movement is to shift public sentiment, to change what people find admirable and what they find disgraceful."
The crossing-over from freedom into authoritarianism may be marked not by a single dramatic event but by the slow corrosion of our ruling institutions—and that corrosion is well under way.
