In 2023, Leon Botstein couched Jeffrey Epstein as an embarrassing footnote. The newly-released documents tell a slightly different story.

This is a “commercial” for Fannie Mae featuring an AI generated voice of the current president and someone filling out a mortgage application by hand (which also looks to be coil bound which feels useless) on CNN

The beatings will continue until morale improves
Homan: "I begged for the last two months on TV for the rhetoric to stop. I said in March -- if the rhetoric doesn't stop, there is gonna be bloodshed. And there has been. I wish I wasn't right. I don't want to see anybody die."

This is a so-called Kavanaugh Stop, yes?
Ramon Menera, a Columbia Heights resident and U.S. citizen, said he was detained by Border Patrol agents Jan. 14 after an agent told him his accent led officers to question where he was born.

The agent asking for Menera’s identification appeared to have an accent himself.

If someone tells you they’ve nominated your work for Pulitzer, that’s great! Good luck! Hope you win!

But it’s not an official Pulitzer thing. I can nominate my non-existent cat for a Pulitzer. Or the FIFA Peace Prize.
I’ve seen this a couple times recently and it’s soapbox of mine (much like zipper merge). Applicable to many fields of creative work (unlike zipper merge):

There is no such thing as a Pulitzer-nominated anything

You can be a finalist or a winner. That’s it.

Whiskey Tango Fridays
New: CBS News seems to be preparing a new segment called "Whiskey Fridays with Tony Dokoupil," per sources.

Some staff were only first made aware of it as they encountered CBS testing out set designs of a faux-stocked bar in the newsroom, featuring a large sponsor banner for Jack Daniels.
