You're not wrong, however I think that BRICS has changed the landscape, and strategically we can see that with stance changes in NORAD, SOUTHCOM, expanding the icebreaker fleet for the 1st time since the cold war, and eyeing Canada and Greenland for expansion.

We actually count on it! However, that does not in any way undercut the message: do not fund their regime. Force the GOP back to the table to continue governance. Democrats have LABOR support to keep the shutdown extended until Trump can be removed from office. It just needs to be communicated.

It is their opportunity to test the waters with the dehumanization of civilian prisoners by sending them to gitmo as "narco-terrorists", a term with no legal basis anywhere in the world. Of note, I was recently offered a contract to work on upgrading security systems on site @ gitmo.
