The thing is, it's bad at grunt repetitive stuff too - it's not good with calculations or adhering to consistent systems, in my experience you can't really trust it for any of that stuff.

Even from a strictly utility standpoint (I say this as someone who does find LLMs etc kind of fascinating), AI *sucks ass* at doing any of this creative work at a level beyond an especially bad Hallmark script.

A certain % of humans just seem blind to how crappy its output is. It’s strange.

Some faves for me: Nick Cave, Van Morrison, PJ Harvey, Pharoahe Monch, Tom Waits, so many more.

I’ve found Swift’s lyrics to be weirdly calculated to be “clever” or “deep”, like she’s mimicking the great lyricists but lacking whatever honesty or naturalness that gave them soul. Feels so artificial.

Nah, it’s just clips from 2020. There were actually some gnarly riots, downtown *was* deserted and boarded up, it was super depressing. Whole different ballgame.

I went to co-ed Catholic HS, there were several in my area. Definitely an awkward mix of secular staff/teachers, and priests who lived in an abbey on campus.

Just struck me how different my read on this interaction was. Are most of those commenters her political supporters? I thought the journalist did try to reel things back in, but Porter got flustered & closed off very quickly. I've flubbed interviews like that too, but man. Not a confidence builder.

Interesting. I didn't know who Porter was offhand, no dog in this fight, by default rooting for her like I do all interviewees. But she really does poorly here. Gave a semi-contradictory response, then went off rails when reporter mildly asked to clarify. Yet 90% of comments here say she did great.

Zero evidence other than a sensational post that is now deleted. Single person in vehicle. Personally looped in to local events on the ground. Enough professional experience w/PPB to know they wouldn't be adversarial like that to ICE. Easy spot to get lost/turned around in. Etc.

Theoretically (likely not IRL) short-term lending could be regulated into an almost non-predatory state. The bridge too far for me on gambling is this new online app-ified version. In 2-3 years we're going to see tons of docs & profiles about all the lives & families it's torn apart.

Or *she* was just a dumb driver trying to get thru trying to get to the Spaghetti Factory or whatever. I'm very familiar with that spot, a weird area next to I5 that a ton of people get lost in. "ICE" "Run down protesters" Social media has truly melted folks' brains.
