If you are a blue dot, in a red state, I suggest emailing this to your Congresspeople. I did. (I know it's Cato, so it may be hard for some of you; but before MAGA, this is what Conservatives believed. REMIND THEM.)
There Is No Good Reason to Revoke Birthright Citizenship
With the law, tradition, common sense, reason, and empirical evidence on the side of maintaining birthright citizenship, we can only hope that the courts maintain our exceptional system in its current...

This is a very well done, timely opinion — despite being about comments made in the immediate aftermath of 9/11.
4th Cir. holds that it violated the First Amendment to convict Virginia man of soliciting treason for his inflammatory, disturbing, and deeply offensive post-9/11 statements which urged no concrete criminal plan or provide assistance to crime.

Huge case.

/7 Prosecuting a cop for misconduct, let alone murder, is the hardest prosecution you can do in America. Thanks to America’s culture it’s like trying to convict a fucking kitten for high treason. It’s like trying to convict Jesus. You just cannot rush over confidently into that.

Here’s a comment for the people who are upset that MN hasn’t charged Jonathan Ross already:

If you just Leeeroy Jenkins this shit you will lose and you will empower fascism and murder.

It is indescribably hard to prosecute cops for murder. It is even hard when the murder is ON VIDEO.

Confession. I spend time posting on a niche right-wing forum, just so I can get my rage at the MAGAs out without being banned or brigaded by bots. It's a bit cathartic.

According to my sources, the FBI was initially open to a concurrent investigation with the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (the state agency that would do this investigation).

Trumpy U.S. Attorney Daniel Rosen heard about this and intervened, barring the FBI from cooperating with local police.

Important to know that Dan Rosen has not yet even been in office for three months and never had criminal prosecution experience before becoming the U.S. Attorney in October.

He also moved back from Florida (Key Biscayne) to Minnesota when he became the U.S. Attorney.

/3 No, but seriously: here’s a thread from the last time I got out of a hospital. I mean every bit of it sincerely. There’s nothing to be ashamed of if you fight depression or anxiety or anything else, and there is always hope of being better. Believe!

Hi. I was away for a week. Hope everyone is doing well.

There are people who believe the reasons for my absence are shameful and disqualifying for full participation on public life.

Those people can snort my taint.

If you need help, get help. Don’t wait to be in crisis. You can feel better.

FOLKS IN MINNEAPOLIS:

SAVE all videos & photos from today. They will be valuable to prove the ICE agent --- who had time to move & re-position himself to the side of the victim's car to shoot into the driver's side window --- was not in reasonable fear of imminent serious physical injury or death.

It’s a very complicated world, and there’s a lot of grey rather than black or white, so it’s comforting to know with certainty that if Tricia McLaughlin says something you can know, with confidence, it’s false.
DHS's first official statement is out, and they call the woman who was shot a domestic terrorist who they claim was trying to kill an ICE agent.

As a reminder, Tricia McLaughlin's post-shooting statements have been proven to be false MULTIPLE times in the past. They are simply not trustworthy.
