The Hillsborough Law is an improvement but the fact that it’s taken over 30 years for the authorities of both flavours to think that cover-ups are probably a bad idea speaks volumes.

Over 30 years.

It’s #WorldMSDay. I spoke about how it affects me on this week’s TAW Midweek Extra show, which is free on YouTube (and wherever else you get your podcasts) in case you want to listen. It’s also fine if you don’t want to listen, for the record. youtu.be/5ugmVDfttlE?...

Can’t stop thinking about those poor people caught up in that. If you were at the parade today, make sure you let your friends and loved ones know you’re ok. My heart goes out to everyone affected by it. Sending love to you all.

Hillsborough Law Now.
Not a charter that may or may not be legally binding.
Not a watered-down version with no funding for legal representation.

Wrote in 2021 about the Hillsborough trial ending.

Some anniversaries are met with sadness, others with anger at how it was allowed to happen and be covered up.

Two news stories this morning:

-Reeves has confirmed she will have to make more cuts to welfare after it was shown planned cuts don’t raise as much money as first thought
-The Chancellor has also confirmed an additional £2.2 billion in defence spending

Won’t help people live. Will help people die.
Under Starmer, Labour don’t give a shit about the poor, the needy or the disabled. They are actively pursuing millionaires & billionaires. The party has completely lost sight of who it is for.
Today I took a message to Rachel Reeves at the Treasury: it's time to rebalance the economy.

A #WealthTax on multi-millionaires and billionaires would raise £24billion - nearly 5 times as much as the government is trying to save by taking support away from disabled people.

🧵 The UK government has announced they will make over £5bn in cuts to disabled people’s social security.

This is the biggest cut on record. And we’re appalled.

People at food banks have told us that they’re terrified about how they might survive.

Bournemouth are one of the best teams in the country and have been since ten games into last season. Manchester United aren't and it has been untenable to argue they have been for about the same period.

The better side beating the other emphatically is not a surprise.
